Barcelona full-back Aleix Vidal says the players will not be thinking about their huge points advantage when they take on Real Madrid tomorrow.

The Catalans have a 10-point lead over Los Blancos in the title and look set to comfortable retain the trophy they won last May. With a Champions League quarter final coming up against Atletico de Madrid, it has been suggested by some that Barcelona could take it easy in the Clasico knowing that even a defeat won’t dent their title hopes.

But speaking about the match, the most watched club game in football worldwide, Vidal said the Barcelona players will not be thinking about their advantage and are hugely motivated to win.

“We focus on winning and it is true that we have a significant margin of points.

We know what we have to do and from there the two best teams in the world face and anything can happen,” he said.
Speaking about the heavy schedule facing Luis Enrique’s side – they are also in the final of the Copa del Rey – Vidal said the players are prepared for what is to come.

“There is so much motivation to play in these types of games that fatigue remains in the background. A team like ours is able to play many games in a row, we have the best in the world and no matter how many games we play because we will always [play to the] death.”
