Real Madrid have done an incredible season winning the double with La Liga, and the Champions League. This was a very difficult task, because Los Blancos had not won La Liga in the last five years and they are the first team who claimed for second time in a row the Champions League title. Now it’s the moment to evaluate the performance of the players during the season 2016-2017.

Marco Asensio has done and amazing season in his first year at Real Madrid. The young player of 21 years old, has became in one of the best youngsters of La Liga, and in this year he has step up and amazed the world with great performances, especially in the Champions League quarter-finals against Bayern Munich and scoring the fourth goal of the Champions League Final.

His first season in a big club has been very successful. He started in August scoring an amazing goal against Sevilla in the European Supercup. Afterwards, he was able to score in Copa del Rey and Champions League, and also in the opening match in La Liga, against Real Sociedad.

No one doubt about his quality, but he’s been able to adapt himself very quickly to Real Madrid. Last year he played his first season in La Liga, on loan with Espanyol. He showed his quality as a playmaker, with 34 appearances and 4 goals. Los Blancos signed him in 2015 from Mallorca, paying only €4M for the youngster. He is a very technical player and very quick, something unusual for a play maker, who can also play as a winger.

In his first year at Real Madrid, Asensio has played an amount of 1077 minutes, scoring 3 goals in La Liga, 3 in Copa del Rey, 3 in Champions League and one in the European Super Cup (his first goal with Real Madrid shirt). Unfortunately, because of the competitors, he didn’t enjoy as many minutes as he deserved, but if he keeps showing this level, he will become in the future a very important player for Real Madrid. Therefore, Zidane should include him more often in the line-up. So far, he’s earn himself another season with Real Madrid.
