Gareth Bale is looking forward to the quarter-finals round against Bayern Munich on Wednesday and he has spoken about his feeling before the last two decisive months of competition in an interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph.

The Welshman is not at his best in the last games and he had a very poor performance against Atlético Madrid. However, the winger is now focused on playing in the Champions League, where he will fight for his third title in only four years: “It would be an incredible achievement, especially as no club has won the Champions League in back-to-back seasons since the new format came in,” Bale commented.

The club is also fighting with Barcelona to win La Liga title after several years of draught: “Both are so important to the club and the fans so it would be amazing to do the double”, the Welshman told to the newspaper.

Gareth Bale will meet Carlo Ancelotti in Munich, a manager whom he worked at Real Madrid and together they won the Champions League and the Copa del Rey: “He had a relaxed playing style and was very easy to play under; a very laid-back manager”, said Bale.

Obviously, the Welshman was also asked about his current coach, a man that he appreciates: “Zidane is a man that demands respect – he has won everything. He knows everything in Spanish and European football and knows Real Madrid in and out”.

According to Bale “La Liga is slightly more technical than the Premier League” and he put some reasons on the table: “There’s a lot of one-touch close-range passing and I think that has definitely improved my play in small areas. I definitely feel like I’m developing. Playing with and for the best can only help you to improve”, Bale affirmed.
