Cristiano Ronaldo Wins Yet Another Award

The build up to this weekend’s Champions League Final has seen some commentators trying to compare the Real Madrid legend with the Reds Egyptian forward who has had such an amazing season in the Premier League .

But any comparison between the two forwards is surely impossible ? – Ronaldo has won the Ballon D’Or five times , this is awarded annually for the world’s top footballer . Amongst his other club achievements the 33 year old Ronaldo has won the Champions League on four occasions , Premier League – three times and La Liga twice. An astonishing record and the Portuguese striker also holds the records for most official goals scored in Europe’s top-five leagues (395), and the Champions League (120).

Mohamed Salah is only 25 and has many great years ahead of him . The Egyptian forward played well for Roma before moving to Liverpool and has progressed further since focusing as an out and out central striker . Scoring thirty two Premier League goals to win the Premier League Golden Boot Award (Top Scorer)  was a great achievement and this was recognised as he became the first player to claim three Premier League Player Of The Month Awards in the same season.

When asked recently if he could see any similarities between himself and Salah , Ronaldo replied,

He is completely different. He plays with the left, I play with the right. I’m tall he’s a little bit shorter, I play with the head. ‘We are completely different. People want to compare me with other players but I’m different from everyone.”

The two forwards will be the focus of much attention this weekend and it will be fascinating to see if Ronaldo can keep his amazing Champions League goalscoring record going . Ronaldo has netted fifteen times in the Champions League so far this season only two behind his best ever season of seventeen goals in 2013-14 .

    Watch out Liverpool !
