Carlo Ancelotti will be fired next week, after Real Madrid have concluded their La Liga campaign, according to a high profile Spanish journalist.

Cadena COPE’s Paco Gonzalez said Real will not confirm anything at the moment, but it is in their mindset to release the manager from his duties shortly after they host Getafe in their final league game of the campaign. The news will increase talk of who will be the next boss at the Santiago Bernabeu, and should you fancy a flutter, you should click here for a full ranking of gambling sites and decide who you think will arrive in the dugout.

Gonzalez himself did not mention any replacement by name, but the favourites for the post seem to be Rafa Benitez or Jurgen Klopp given the amount of speculation in the media.

Ancelotti is a popular figure among the players, but will pay the price for ending the campaign without any major silverware. It is in stark contrast to the scenes 12 months ago when the players and manager were welcomed back to Madrid after lifting the club’s 10th Champions League trophy in Lisbon.

This season, a poor run of form at the start of 2015 saw them lose their grip on the title, while Seria A champions Juventus knocked them out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage.

  5. I think they should keep him it makes no sense bring in a next coach you have to start all over again and he wood have to get to know the players first.

  6. Fairly speaking , i have no excuse for Anceloti and the team’s debacle. Anceloti failed coz he didn’t believe in other players except the stars. He couldn’t make the team work hard and put up a system that demand some effort . He won all the trophies last season coz of the hard work started at Real by Jose Mourhino . They were so many lazy games played by the team.
