Zinedine Zidane will give some rest to some important players of the squad today, when Real Madrid make their season debut in the Copa del Rey, the only title missing in the coach track records. Los Blancos face Fuenlabrada, a club from the third division -Segunda B-, so the youngsters should be able to get a good result in this derby.

Last season, Zidane trusted a lot in the players on the bench. They were able to lead the team in the Copa del Rey and in many games in La Liga. As a result, Los Blancos were able to win La Liga and arrive with a great physical status to the end of the season, shining in the second half of the Champions League final.

Marco Asensio, Álvaro Morata, James Rodríguez, Lucas Vázquez, Isco Alarcón or Nacho Fernández made great performances in these kind of games, earning the possibility of playing the big games. For instance, Isco or Nacho started to play in the line-up in important games, thanks to their output in these games.

This season, Zidane will follow the same strategy. We already saw some changes in the game against Eibar, with Ceballos or Theo Hernández in the line-up. But today we should see all the players that have to fight for more minutes in La Liga. For instance, Borja Mayoral, Dani Ceballos, Marcos Llorente or Jesús Vallejo are ready to enjoy 90 minutes with the Real Madrid t-shirt.

Jesús Vallejo will make his debut with Real Madrid. He was signed three two years ago, but he went on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt. After that, he got injured, so he’s missed the start of this season, but finally he will be able to show his great quality.

Other players like Dani Ceballos, Borja Mayoral or Marcos Llorente are not having many minutes in the start of the season. Ceballos scored two goals in the victory against Alavés and every time he’s got the chance, he’s played very well. Mayoral also scored against Real Sociedad away, but since then he hasn’t had many opportunities. And Marcos Llorente is Casemiro’s substitute, a very difficult role in a team like Real Madrid.
