Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has done little to quash reports he is keen on a move to Real Madrid.

The former Atletico de Madrid shot stopper has been identified by the Los Blancos hierarchy as the man to replace Iker Casillas between the sticks in the long-term at the Santiago Bernabeu and some reports say the 10-time European champions will make an effort to sign him in the summer.

De Gea, who has cemented his place in the Spain squad in recent months, told La Sexta he is happy at Manchester United but added it’s difficult to know if Real will make a bid for him or not.

The 24-year-old, who is currently sidelined with a dislocated finger picked up on international duty, said: “It’s hard to say if Real Madrid will make a bid because of all the rumours that appear in the Press. If you took seriously what is constantly written about you, then you’d almost believe you were going to a thousand clubs.

“I feel wanted in Manchester, so the best thing to do is pay attention to where you are at the moment, and I feel loved at United.”

De Gea joined United in 2011 for 20 millions euros and was the Player of the Year last season.
