Thibaut Courtois does not have an agreement to join Real Madrid, the goalkeeper has said.

The 22-year-old Belgian shot stopper has been on loan at city rivals Atletico de Madrid from Chelsea for the last three years, and is due to return to Stamford Bridge next season.

But with the futures of Diego Lopez and Iker Casillas up in the air come the end of the campaign, Los Blancos are thought to be on the lookout for a world class keeper to challenge whoever of those two remains at the club.

Reports in recent weeks have suggested Carlo Ancelotti will focus his attention on Courtois, who has put in eye catching displays while at the Vicente Calderon. The youngster has helped the club lift the Europa League and the Copa del Rey, while he has performed outstandingly between the sticks as Atletico have emerged to challenge Barcelona and Real in the race for La Liga this season.

Radio station Cadena Ser reported that the keeper will return to Chelsea next season, but has an agreement in place to join Real Madrid in 2016. But speaking to AS, Courtois denied those claims.

“It is all fake,” he was quoted as saying. “I have no agreement with any other clubs. The World knows that I have a contract with Chelsea and Atletico are very happy with me.”
