Colombian striker Radamel Falcao could arrive at Real Madrid before the winter transfer market window closes, Spanish website Fichajes.net has claimed.

The former Atletico Madrid man moved from AS Monaco to Manchester United last summer on a loan deal, but he hasn’t adapted to Premier League football. Although he started as Louis Van Gaal’s first choice for the striker role, in the last game against Southampton he didn’t even make it in the squad.

Fichajes.net has stated the player’s agent Jorge Mendes approached Los Blancos directors during the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Zurich to discuss a possible loan transfer. Chicharito Hernandez could return to Manchester, while Falcao would end up at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 28-year-old has long been linked with Real Madrid. Last summer he was very close to signing for Los Merengues, but his high price was an obstacle, especially after Florentino Perez had spent almost 80 million euros in bringing James Rodriguez.

Despite having played for Los Blancos city-rivals Atletico, Falcao is a big fan of Real as his father confessed a couple of years ago, when he told a Colombian radio “his dream is to play for Real Madrid, as a kid he always wanted to play there.”

Falcao has made 12 appearances for United so far this season, scoring three goals.
