Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to offer Barcelona star Neymar da Silva Santos to become the highest paid player in the world, according to Catalonian newspaper Sport.

The Los Blancos president is determined to bring the Brazilian to the Santiago Bernabeu and he would offer a 35-million-euro salary, twice what Cristiano Ronaldo makes -the Portuguese earns 17 million per season.

Neymar would also double his current salary and he would make almost twice what Leo Messi gets at Barcelona.

Although the rumours seem completely mad, Spanish press are insisting Perez has 190 million prepared to bring the 23-year-old to Madrid next summer.

Yet, first there are two important requirements for Neymar’s signing to succeed: the appeal to the transfer ban will have to go through for Madrid to be able to buy next summer, and Los Blancos will need to sell Cristiano Ronaldo to pay for Neymar’s transfer.

Perez is convinced that signing would cause a Figo-effect, repeating the strategy he used in his first year at Real Madrid, when he brought Luis Figo and started an era of success.
