After scoring his first hat trick for Real Madrid on Saturday night, Gareth Bale says he is approaching full fitness.

In a statement that will strike fear into the hearts of defenders across Spain, Bale said there is still more to come from him once he us fully up and running and when he feels more confident with his Spanish too,

Against Valladolid, he scored a perfect hat trick – one with his left foot, one with his right foot, and a header – as Los Blancos ran out 4-0 victors at the Santiago Bernabeu. It was just his 13th game in the famous white shirt. Cristiano Ronaldo took 62 games to score a perfect hat trick for Madrid, Messi is yet to do it for Barcelona.

Speaking to Real Madrid TV after the game, Bale said: “I feel part of the team and am enjoying my time here, my team mates have made it easier and all have supported me. I’m almost 100%, but I have to keep working.”

He admitted his Spanish isn’t quite up to scratch to speak in front of the cameras, but he hopes to be able to do so shortly. Talking about the three goals, Bale stated: “It was a special moment for me to score my first hat-trick at the Bernabeu. It was nice to score but I also have to thank my team mates. It was a pleasure.”
