Gareth Bale says Real Madrid will keep on working hard to win titles in 2016 and he wants to improve as a player.

The forward netted four goals in the sensational 10-2 win over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend but is keeping his feet on the ground by admitting he can still improve.

The 26-year-old, a 91-million summer signing from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, has scored eight goals in 11 league games this season and 36 in La Liga since his switch. Gary Lineker is the only British or Irish striker ahead of him to have scored more La Liga goals – on 42.

Speaking to the media after the emphatic win, Bale stated: “I hope to keep improving in 2016. I think that we had a good game today even if they were left with nine men. We are going to work hard to win titles. The relationship between the players and the manger is very good.”

And the Welshman went on to add: “We have to put more work into every aspect of our game and fortunately we have time to improve. In the second half against Villarreal we could have scored four or five goals but we lacked accuracy. These things happen in football, we are not robots.”
