Jesé Rodriguez goes back today to Santiago Bernabéu stadium, where he lived his best moments as a footballer. Last summer, he decided to leave Spain to start a new adventure in Paris with PSG, but he failed in France, so he’s back to La Liga to recover better feelings. He arrived to Las Palmas, his home town, in January as an star, but he hasn’t scored any goal yet. Now, he will meet again some old friend at Bernabéu, his home.

Las Palmas arrive to Santiago Bernabéu stadium in their worst moment of the season. The Canary Islands team signed in the winter transfer window the former FC Barcelona player Halilovic and the former Real Madrid striker Jesé Rodríguez. It was a step forward in the quality of the squad, but the results are not arriving. Jesé has played four games and all of them were defeats. Something is not working.

The season for Jesé Rodríguez has been a nightmare. He left Real Madrid for a €25M transfer fee to Paris. He only played 9 games in Ligue One with PSG, scoring one goal. His relationship with Unai Emery, PSG coach, wasn’t good, so he had to leave. Despite his bad moment, Jesé Rodríguez still dreams to go back to Real Madrid: “I have in my head going back one day. It’s the club that gave me the life, the value, the humbleness, my skills… I still have in my mind: ‘What if I’m successful at Real Madrid?’, Jesé said in an interview with As.

Now he will go back to Santiago Bernabéu as Las Palmas star. Jesé says he’s not regretful for leaving the club: “I’m nostalgic, though. I spent 10 years at Real Madrid. Not everybody arrives with 13 years old and stay four years with the first team. It’s very rare. Only Raúl, Guti, Casillas… And now the youngsters: Nacho, Morata, Lucas…”.

Asked about the reasons why Jesé wasn’t not successful at Real Madrid, the striker denied that he didn’t succeed: “I had one year left at Madrid and I took the decision because I wanted to improve, play, score goals and make noise. I just turn 24. I want continuity to fight for a place in the national team”, Jesé explained. Today, he’ll have the opportunity to show off at Bernabéu.
