After the great final Real Madrid played against Juventus, there are many topics to cover. Los Blancos suffered in the beginning of the clash but when Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoreboard, the team managed by Zidane gained in confidence, being much superior than the Italian side during all the second half. The Portuguese star continues beating records and with the two goals he scored in the final, he has beaten Lionel Messi as the Champions League top scorer in this edition with 12 goals.

This is the fifth time in a row that Cristiano achieves this award, showing that the Champions League is his favourite competition. He also received the MVP of the final, thanks to his great performance in his fifth final in the European competition. With these 12 goals he also has become in the first player to score in three Champions League finals.

It looks like the Portuguese player will receive another award when the year ends. There was a debate with who must win the Golden Ball this year, if Cristiano Ronaldo or Buffon. After watching yesterday’s final, it seems that the Real Madrid striker will receive his fifth Golden Ball because he is currently the best player in the world.

The Portuguese striker spoke after the final, highlighting his great personal season and the great job of the team:” I’m very happy, it has been an incredible season. We won La Liga and the Champions League and that’s very difficult. I arrived well to the end of the season, scoring very important goals, in huge clashes and that makes me feel very satisfied. After this season I can say the I feel like a young player because I’m in my best moment, both physically and mentally”.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave his point of view of yesterday’s final:” It has been a very even game. In the first half Juventus started much better than us, creating clear chances and having the ball possession. But in the second half we were very superior. Maybe we played the best second half in all the season, against a very good team who defends really focused and that has very good players in the attack”, Cristiano said about the final.
