Nacho Fernandez says the Real Madrid players are aware that Malmo are a strong team at home and they will need to put in a performances to get a result.

This season’s Champions League has already thrown up some surprising results, with Arsenal losing at both Dinamo Zagreb and at home to Olympiakos when there were considered favourites, while Chelsea lost at Porto and Manchester United lost to PSV Eindhoven.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match, the defender said the Real players are taking the game seriously and know the Swedish outfit will give their all when they take on the 10-time winners of the competition.

“The team are really looking forward to the match, and are out to play well and come away with the three points. We expect to come up against a very tough side; we know that they’re strong at home. We’ll try to play our game and control the match, without losing sight of the threat they pose up front and how tough they are,” he commented.

And he told reporters Los Blancos are aware of a few players to look out for.

“From Malmö I know [Markus] Rosenberg, who played for Racing Santander and likes to score a lot of goals. Also [Jo Inge] Berget, who is really quick. We know that they’re a good side and that they dominate their games at home. I don’t follow the Swedish league, but we know that they’re a difficult team and that they aren’t going to make life easy for us.”
