MLS side Orlando City would prefer to sign Cristiano Ronaldo rather than Leo Messi if given the choice, according to the club’s owner Flavio Augusto Da Silva.

Real Madrid man Ronaldo, who this week set the club’s all-time goalscoring record with his brace against Malmo, has hinted in the past that his future could be in the USA when he eventually decides to leave the Spanish capital.

If he did go to the MLS, he would follow in the footsteps of former Real stars David Beckham and Kaka in making the move Stateside.

Speaking to the media earlier this week, Da Silva said said Ronaldo is more physically complete compared to his Barcelona counterpart. In addition, the Portugal international would have a bigger impact in the marketing scene in the US.

“Truthfully, we like Cristiano Ronaldo a lot. We’d sign him without thinking about it. Physically, he’s more complete than Messi, and he’d make more of an impact on a marketing level in MLS than the Argentine,” he told Marca.

If he joined Orlando, Ronaldo would link up with Brazilian Kaka, who has helped his side to reach the playoff places in the league. His fine form has also seen the former World Player Of The Year recalled to his national side.
