Napoli forward Edison Cavani is the latest name to be linked with Real Madrid as Los Blancos look to strengthen the squad ahead of next season.
According to Madrid-based daily Marca, the Santiago Bernabeu club is considering making an offer for the forward.
While Napoli, now under the charge of Rafa Benitez, are looking for a figure of around 63 million euros, Los Blancos officials believe they could get the figure lower by offering a number of unwanted players in exchange.
The Uruguayan scored 29 goals for his side this year as he helped them secure a second place finish in Seria A. In his three years with Napoli he has scored a total of 104 goals.
Should Los Merengues decide to follow up on their interest by making an offer, they face competition from Chelsea, now managed by Jose Mourinho, and Manchester City.
