Real Madrid are keeping close tabs on two Paris Saint-Germain footballers, according to reports from France and Spain.

French sports newspaper L’Equipe has claimed Los Blancos and Barcelona are fighting to convince midfielder Marco Verratti to leave Paris this summer.

Verratti has reportedly signed a pre-agreement with Los Merengues, but Barca are trying to make the Italian change his mind, offering him a higher salary.

The 22-year-old is one of Carlo Ancelotti’s favourites and Florentino Perez is ready to make a big effort in order to bring him. Barcelona also see in Verratti a perfect player to cover Xavi Hernandez’s exit. However, their transfer ban will be a big obstacle for the Italian to become an Azulgrana.

Spanish press has also reported Edison Cavani is about to leave PSG and Real could be among the clubs that have made an offer to sign him. Chicharito Hernandez is expected to leave this summer and Los Blancos will need a new striker.

Los Blancos have long been interested in Cavani but right now his high price and his age are the main cause of concern for Real directors. Cavani is surely among the candidates to arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu, but at the moment he’s not Florentino Perez’s first option.
