Real Madrid Tie a Deal with Isco

Florentino Pérez was struggling to get a new contract for Isco Alarcón, who wasn’t really convince to continue at Real Madrid. The story has finally ended in a positive way and the Spanish playmaker will play for Los Blancos until 2022, so he will sign another five-year deal.

According to the Spanish newspaper MARCA, the deal is sealed. However, the parties won’t announce it until the summer. Then, Real Madrid will know whether the season was successful or not and they’ll start to prepare the next season, with some players leaving and new ones arriving.

The good news for Real Madrid supporters is that Isco will stay. His current contract expires in June 2018 and he will sign a new five-year deal, so the new contract will expire in June 2020. The salary will be also increased and the Málaga born player will earn €6M per year after tax, the double of what he’s currently getting.

Isco arrived to Real Madrid in 2013 after paying €30M to Málaga. The playmaker was raised at Valencia, but the club left him go and he shone with Málaga also in the Champions League. Then, he also showed a great level in his debut with Los Blancos, scoring 8 goals and playing 32 games in his first season.

Isco was hesitating whether to stay or leave this season. Zinedine Zidane always says good words about the playmaker, but then he’s on the bench in the important games. For instance, he didn’t play a minute in El Clásico or in the first leg in Munich. However, Isco has Zidane’s confidence, so he finally decided to continue tied with Los Blancos.

He’s been a key players in many important games. For instance, he was one of the best players in the derby played at Calderón this season, so he could be also very important in the Champions League semifinals against the city rivals. In this last month of competition it would be very important to see the best of Isco. It’s also Zidane’s duty to obtain the best of the former Málaga player.
