Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos says all the players are supportive of club president Florentino Perez and boss Rafa Benitez.

The manager has been under increasing pressure in recent weeks following damaging defeats to Barcelona, Sevilla and Villarreal.

Los Blancos responding in emphatic style with a 10-2 win over La Liga strugglers Rayo Vallecano at the weekend, but even that wasn’t without its problems as the home fans jeered and whistled when the hosts went 2-1 down early on.

Last month, Perez came out in support of Benitez saying “he is the solution, not the problem”.

And speaking to the media after the match, Ramos said the players were supportive of both men.

“If that’s what the president says then he has his reasons. We’re just the pawns here, he’s the king. We all support the manager. He tries to bring his own ideas and we try to execute them, every player tries to do it in his own way,” he stated.

The captain also urged the fans to show more support when times are tough rather than getting on players backs so quickly. Ronaldo appeared to gesture at the fans in the game on Sunday, and got the backing of Ramos.

“Sometimes players are free to express their feelings. He always says what he thinks. When we needed support most from the fans we got whistles, sometimes you need a little love. People single you out when they think you’re not giving your all. When they see you giving it all you have they don’t get on your case,” he stated.
