Real Madrid winger Lucas Vasquez says they team can’t be expected to win big every game and will be tested on plenty more occasions his season.

Los Blancos saw off Granada 1-0 on Saturday, a much closer scoreline than their previous three games in which they had scored five, six and four without reply respectively.

The visitors put in a strong performance at the Santiago Bernabeu and frustrated the 10-time Champions League winners, who also had the chances to win by a greater margin.

Vasques spoke to the media after the match and told reporters the players know not every game will be easy.

“Not all games can end with 6-0 wins and can’t all be strolls in the park. Granada kept things very tight at the back. We had clear chances in the first half but lacked precision. That caused us to suffer more than was necessary. I think it was a fair result; we controlled the majority of the game. This is a difficult time of day to play, it’s very hot, and perhaps that can be seen. But the most important thing was getting the win,” the winger stated.

He also went on to express his delight at having made his debut at home.

He commented: “I’m delighted to have started my first game for Real Madrid. I need to keep digging in at training and making the most of my chances. Benítez congratulated me after today’s game as it was my first time starting in the Bernabéu.”
