Zinedine Zidane spoke in press conference one day before facing Eibar at home in the next game in La Liga. Los Blancos are struggling at home and they need the three points after the draw in Champions League against Tottenham.

This game left a lot of controversy around Karim Benzema, who was criticized for missing many goals. Gary Lineker also said that Benzema was overrated: “I’m bothered about Karim because people who know about football, saying that, it’s a shame. To me he’s the best. I don’t know if people think the ‘9’ has to score 50 goals. Karim is not going to score 60 goals, but he’s going to score 25 or 30 and give 30 assists. I’m bothered but you can’t avoid it”, the manager explained.

The French manager was asked about the award ‘The Best’ because Zidane has been shortlisted this year: I’m lucky to be here, in the best club in the world, with the best players”. Zidane said refusing thinking he’s the best coach.

The coach also spoke about the problems playing at home: “We like playing at Bernabéu. It’s true that if you see the results it’s not what we expected. Against Tottenham we didn’t win, but I said this was very long and we will go through. We have the possibility to play at home and win the game now”.

Zidane analyzed the problems Los Blancos are having in set pieces: “I’m sure the rivals study us better. But this has just stated. We know how to play and also they know. Now there are injuries, we don’t score in set pieces, we don’t score our chances… calm down because there are many positive things in all the negative issues you are asking”.

Now Los Blancos have an important run at home: “We play every three days. Now we have 7 games. Players like to play. It’s a bit complicated, but we have almost two days to recover and we are fine physically”.
