Zinedine Zidane spoke at press conference after the defeat against Manchester United in the penalty shootout in the first friendly game of Los Blancos in 2017-2018 season. The French manager highlighted the good performance of the squad in yesterday’s game and other important topics such as the lack of strikers in the squad after the signing of Morata with Chelsea.

Zidane started the press conference talking about the first game of the preseason: ” I’m very happy with the performance of my players in the first game. We played a very complete match, and the most important thing is that there were no injuries”, Zidane said about yesterday’s game against Manchester United.

The journalist didn’t doubt asking Zidane about the signing of another striker after Morata’s departure to Chelsea: “I didn’t ask for a striker, in fact, I will not ask for any more signings. We have 26 players available and I’m very happy with my team. We have time to sign until August 31 but I will not ask for any player. ” Zidane confirmed  about the possible signing of a striker.

Sergio Ramos was absent in the first game of the preseason and the French manager affirmed that he will train with the rest of the team this week: ” Sergio Ramos is almost ready to train with the rest of the group. This week, on Monday or Tuesday he will train with us. He didn’t travel with us because it was the best option, but there’s no problem.” Zidane said about Real Madrid’s captain.

Real Madrid and Manchester United will meet again on August 8 in the European Super Cup and this is what the French manager expects about the fist title of the year:” Our goal is to reach August 8 in the best possible conditions. It’s the first title of the year and we will fight to achieve it”. The French manager affirmed.
