Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez has said he wants to make up for lost time and win plenty of trophies in 2015.

The youngster missed eight months of action after suffering a torn cruciate ligament in his knee in the Champions League match against Schalke last March. He made his comeback to the first team last month and has been improving his overall fitness in the last few weeks.

Speaking to the press after the friendly defeat to AC Milan in Dubai, Jese said his wants to win as many trophies as possible next year. He also told reporters that the players are happy with how this season is going so far – Los Blancos sit top of the table and have won their last 22 competitive fixtures.

“Real Madrid always have to win every game they play and that is why we are not satisfied with the failure to win, but the team are working well, and now we have another game in La Liga where things are going well for us. We have to keep going like that,” he commented.

“I have recovered now and the important thing is to help the team. I have had seven days of holidays and have been training with my physiotherapist, who continues to treat the muscles on my knee. That is the most important thing and we are working on it. I want to win titles in the coming year. The team has to fight for all of the titles being played for. That is the aim of the team mates as well my own aim,” he added.

Gareth Bale is not for sale at any price, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said.

The Welshman has been linked with a move to Manchester United at the end of the season with reports the Red Devils could pay up to 120 million euros to secure his services. United boss Louis van Gaal has done little to quieten the rumours, leading to many in the UK media believing a bid could happen in a few months.

But speaking to the press in Dubai, Perez said Bale is a key part of the team and the club would not be entertaining any offer anytime soon.

The 24-year-old joined the Santiago Bernabeu outfit in the summer of 2013 from Tottenham Hotspur for 91 million euros. After a difficult start to life in Spain, when he was hampered by injury, Bale came to life in the latter stages of last season, scoring in both the Champions League and Copa del Rey finals.

Perez stated: “I cannot imagine Real Madrid without Bale. We would never listen to any offer, no matter the amount. This is a unique player who has already given us a lot and it is crucial for the future of the club.”

Carlo Ancelotti has said his Real Madrid players have enjoyed the winter break after such a long year that has been so successful.

Los Blancos succumbed to their first defeat in three months on Tuesday night – a 4-2 loss to AC Milan in a friendly played in Dubai. But speaking to the media after the game, the Italian boss said the result didn’t matter and that the players had enjoyed a few days rest.

The club has had one of its most successful years in its history, winning the Champions League, Copa del Rey, European Super Cup, and Club World Cup.

“After a week-long break we needed a game like this. The defeat does not bother us at all and on a technical level the team was good. Now we have to rest up and then prepare for the game against Valencia,” he said.

And he added: “Milan played well, we didn’t, but you can’t say that this will affect the work we have already done. After the break we needed a match like this in order to prepare for Sunday. We are really happy to put an end to a fantastic year. We also received good news from Valdebebas, where Marcelo was able to train and tonight we didn’t have any injury problems.”

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has said he lets his football do the talking after picking up yet another award.

The 29-year-old was named as the Best Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where the team is on a warm weather training break and to play a friendly against AC Milan.

The Portuguese star, who played a key role in helping his side win four trophies in 2014, said he hoped it was a good sign ahead of the Ballon d’Or next month. And he said he was keen to thank his team mates and manager for all their hard work too.

“I hope this is a good sign ahead of the Ballon d’Or. But I’m not worried about that, it’s the people who vote. I have to thank my team mates and Ancelotti for the fantastic year we’ve had. We won four titles and we’re one of the best teams in the world. This award is an honour,” he said.

And he added: “Things happen naturally. I don’t need to prove anything, my football talks for me on the pitch. I’m happy to do what I like to do and I try to do the best I can for the team, and show that we’re one of the best teams in the world.

“La Décima was one of the great moments of the season. It was a special moment because we’d been looking for it for a long time.”

Former Real Madrid right back Michel Salgado has told the club’s official website he believes Los Blancos can dominate world football for the next few years.

As 2014 draws to a close, it is a good time to look back at what has been achieved, but also look forward. This year will go down as one of the golden years in the club’s history, with Carlo Ancelotti guiding the team to success in the Champions League, Copa del Rey, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.

And Salgado, who won two Champions League trophies and four La liga titles in his 10 years at the club, said he believes Los Blancos are set to dominate.

“I see a team that can win everything this year. Winning titles calms the nerves,” he said.

He added: “We hope the team can manage with the physical and mental pace. This is a side that can compete mentally any day of the week. They are prepared to win everything and make history, which would be the case should they win back-to-back Champions Leagues.”

He went on to add that since winning the Decima, there is a more relaxed feel around the club.

“That was the title we were all waiting for, that long awaited Décima which came after so much suffering. I remember we were having a dinner with Roberto Carlos and when Ramos scored we all leapt from our seats. The suffering was worth it in the end. The Décima has really relaxed the club. This team is still being built; it possesses incredible quality and is still so young. This team has five or six years ahead of it.”

Real Madrid lost their first game since September 14th and ended a run of 22 consecutive victories as they were defeated by AC Milan in a Dubai friendly.

The goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were not enough to beat a solid Milan, lead by Stephan El Shaarawy, who scored a brace.

Los Blancos lack of intensity and poor defending was the key of the game. Carlo Ancelotti men conceded four goals very easily and never had a chance of coming back.

French midfielder Jeremy Menez made it 1-0 for Milan before the half-hour mark thanks to a mistake from defender Nacho. The Spaniard tried to pass the ball to Keylor Navas, but Menez stole the ball and sent it to the back of the net.

El Shaarawy doubled the Italians lead with a superb shot from outside the box into the bottom corner. Yet Cristiano Ronaldo scored four minutes later to bring Los Merengues back in contention before half-time.

The European reigning champions were more dangerous in the second half, but they continued making mistakes in defence, and Milan sealed the victory with two more goals.

El Shaarawy made his second with some help from Iker Casillas, and Giampaolo Pazzini netted the fourth heading home a cross that Alvaro Arbeloa failed to clear.

Nacho was fouled inside the box with five minutes to go, and Benzema cooly converted the penalty, but it was too late to even think of a comeback.

Real ended a glorious 2014 with a defeat, but at least it was in a friendly game. Los Blancos will return to official competition on Sunday as they will pay a visit to Valencia in La Liga.

Florentino Perez, Real Madrid president

Real Madrid swept the board at the Globe Soccer Award in Dubai on Monday night.

Ahead of their glamour friendly against AC Milan, the team was in town for the prize ceremony in which the club picked up an award as well as their being individual honours for Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez, Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez.

Following a year of incredible success, in which they won the Champions League, Copa del Rey, European Super Cup and Club World Cup, Los Blancos were named as club of the year.

Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the Best Player of the Year award, while Colombian playmaker Rodriguez, who joined Madrid in the summer, was given the Breakthrough Player of the Year prize.

Manager and president were also recognised, with Ancelotti picking up the Manager of the Year award and Perez being named as President of the Year.

UEFA boss Michel Platini presented Perez with his trophy and was gushing in his praise of the 10-time Champions League winners.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, listen please. Two important things about Madrid: the first is that it founded FIFA in 1904 and the other is that UEFA see it as the most successful team. “All of which means it’s a great club. Congratulations Madrid,” to told the audience.

Carlo Ancelotti has said he wants his players to keep up the winning run when they play AC Milan in Dubai, but he won’t run them into the ground this week either.

Los Blancos take on the Seria A outfit in a glamorous friendly in the UAE while on their winter break from La Liga action. The team is currently on a 22-game winning run in all competitions, a new record in Spain that has seen the side reach the top of the table and qualify with ease from their Champions League group.

Speaking to the press in the Middle East, Ancelotti said he wants his players to get as much rest as possible during the winter break as there are many challenges that lie ahead. But he added he wants the team to keep winning and stay match sharp.

“Winning breeds more winning. That’s the secret. I’m not going to run the team into the ground this week. They need rest. We know the team are doing well and have accomplished something that had never been done before, so we’re in high spirits. We’re happy with what we’ve achieved, but we know what’s to come will be tough. The team are ready for that,” he stated.
And he added: “We’re going to be well prepared for the tough January we have in store. This match [against AC Milan] will serve as a warm-up. The players who have travelled will play. We’re going to enjoy Dubai and the good weather and play a good match.”

Real Madrid midfielder Isco expects a tough month when the season restarts in January.

Los Blancos are currently on their winter break – although play a friendly against AC Milan in Dubai on Tuesday – having made a superb start to the season. They sit top of the table and have won their last 22 games in all competitions.

But when the real action returns in January, Carlo Ancelotti’s men face Valencia in La Liga before a two-legged affair with city rivals Atletico de Madrid in the Copa del Rey. Real will be up against Fernando Torres again after the ex-Rojiblanco signed for the club on loan from AC Milan until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Speaking in Dubai, Isco said the start of 2015 will not be easy for the Champions League and Copa del Rey holders.

“It will be a very difficult start to 2015 for us. We are still confident ahead of January and hopefully we can produce the same form and go beyond 22 wins,” he stated.

Looking forward to the friendly against Milan, Isco said he was excited to be playing in Dubai.

“It is the first time that I have visited Dubai, so I don’t know much about the place! But I know plenty about Milan and we all know what a big club they are and their record over the years and I’m sure it won’t be an easy game.”
