Gareth Bale could miss Madrid’s derby against Atletico this weekend after Real Madrid confirmed the Welshman is suffering from muscle fatigue.

The 24-year-old couldn’t make his home debut against Getafe, as he had to pull out of the clash during the warm-up. Medical tests have confirmed he will miss next Wednesday’s La Liga game at Elche, and he faces a wait to see if he can play against their city rivals.

A statement published by the club read: “After the tests carried out today on Gareth Bale at the Sanitas La Moraleja hospital, fatigue in the left thigh muscle was found. It will be treated.”

However, Carlo Ancelotti is confident he will be fit to face Atletico. “I am sure he will be ready for the game on Saturday. He had a small problem and we hope it is resolved quickly,” the Italian manager said.

Bale was unable to get a full pre-season. He didn’t play a single game with Tottenham Hotspur while Spurs where negotiating his transfer with Real Madrid. Thus, the Welshman’s state of shape is yet way below his team-mates.

Both Madrid sports newspapers highlight today in their front pages Isco and Cristiano Ronaldo’s brilliant performances in Real Madrid’s 4-1 win over Getafe in La Liga.

“Having Isco and Ronaldo is a privilege”, says Marca, pointing out that the couple was “superb” in the game. “Cristiano netted two -one with a backheel shot- to surpass Hugo Sanchez as the club’s 5th all-time goal scorer”, they report.

“Illarramendi also had a good performance, while a dissapointing Benzema was cheered by the fans”, Marca says.

As reminds “Gareth Bale missed the game after getting injured during the warm-up”. “Fortunately Real had Isco and Cristiano”, the Madrid daily titles.

Los Blancos sit third in La Liga with 13, just behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, the only clubs that have won their five league matches.

Florentino Perez, Real Madrid president

Florentino Perez revealed Real Madrid will not sign any player in the winter transfer market. “We will not be signing anyone in January’, Los Blancos president affirmed during the club’s annual general assembly.

Reports have told Real could be preparing a 50-million-euros bid for a world-class striker, who could be either Luis Suarez or Radamel Falcao.

Karim Benzema’s performance in the forward position has been criticised by many fans, who claim Los Merengues need a better striker to become the best team in the world.

However, Perez is convinced there is no need to make any signings after the arrival of Gareth Bale, whose presence in the team can allow Cristiano Ronaldo to move to the number 9 position when necessary.

Carlo Ancelotti is also happy with youngster Alvaro Morata, who has been Benzema’s usual replacement in recent games. Real Madrid home-grown Jese Rodriguez can also play as striker, although the Italian manager has used him as winger.

After Real sold Gonzalo Higuain this summer, Perez reportedly told Morata that no-one would be brought in to block his path to the first team. He has now reaffirmed that promise and closed the door on Suarez or Falcao’s arrival.

Gareth Bale missed Real Madrid’s easy victory over Getafe at Santiago Bernabeu after leaving injured the warm-up. Isco and Cristiano Ronaldo lead Los Blancos come back, after Getafe took the lead in the first minutes.

Ronaldo was close to scoring in the third minute, but a Getafe defender blocked his shot off the line. Just a couple of minutes after, the Portuguese lost a ball and Lafita’s shot from 30 metres deflected off Pepe to end up in the back of net.

Getafe’s lucky goal gave them confidence. Their discipline and spirit of sacrifice allow them to contain Los Blancos efforts to get near the box.

However, Luis Garcia’s boys made a mistake in a free kick, leaving Ronaldo alone to control the ball and shoot. Moya denied the Portuguese’s effort but Pepe tapped in from three metres.

In a similar play, Getafe’s defence made the same mistake, but this time Ronaldo fired a volley wide off the post.

Los Merengues took the control of the game after the equaliser. Carvajal became a threat for Getafe’s defence on the right wind, while Isco and Di Maria worked perfectly together in the playmaking zone.

Real took the lead after Ronaldo shot a free kicked that hit Michel’s elbow. The referee pointed the spot and CR7 made his 207th goal in 205 game, overtaking Hugo Sanchez as 5th ever Real Madrid’s goal scorer.

Benzema could have scored before the half-time after a brilliant play by Carvajal, but his shot was too weak.

A confortable second half for Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti’s side played a brilliant second half, with Isco taking the control, having a great influence of the game and dancing round the blue shirts. The Andalucian scored the third in marvellous play, dribbling past two defenders and sending the ball to the back of the net.

After that, it was easy for Los Blancos to maintain the lead. Benzema could have scored the fourth, but he sent two easy headers over the bar. Ronaldo hit the post a bit later and Getafe’s hopes totally disappeared when Michel was sent off in the 85th minute.

Ronaldo sealed the victory in the 92nd minute after backheeling a cross by Khedira. Real sit now third in the table, just behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Madrid sports newspaper put their focus today on Gareth Bale’s home debut against Getafe. The Welshman will very like earn a spot in the starting eleven in his first match at Santiago Bernabeu.

“A dream day for Bale”, titles As. “Bale will be in the starting line-up”, claims Marca. They both point out that Carlo Ancelotti has admitted “Cristiano Ronaldo will take the free kicks” despite Bale’s arrival.

The Italian’s press conference yesterday gave the newspapers a number of headlines that they both publish in their front pages. “I’m Italian, with three passes I have enough to score a goal, I don’t need 30”, he said.

As also publishes a special report about Real Madrid’s spending during Florentino Perez’s term of office. “Every title in his second era as Real’s president has cost 139.4 million euros. For Barcelona it’s been 14.53m. During Vicente del Bosque’s era it was 31.05m”, As claims.

Marca mentions Perez will reveal in today’s assembly that Real Madrid had record revenue last season.

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso is reportedly closer to leave the club at the end of the season. The 31-year-old’s contract expires in June 2014 and his groin problems are making Los Blancos doubt over his renewal.

Alonso had surgery this summer to recover from the injury, but the recovery is not going as expected. The Basque still has pain and his reincorporation does not look to be around the corner.

Los Merengues had signed Asier Illarramendi from Real Sociedad this summer so Alonso could teach him and make him his replacement for the future. But the good performance of the youngster and Alonso’s physical problems might anticipate the relief.

Many clubs have showed an interest in signing Xabi Alonso last summer, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus and Fiorentina. Juve has been reported to be willing to make the higher bid if Alonso doesn’t sign a renewal with Real, but the midfielder’s agent has denied  contacts with the Italians.

However, Alonso has always shown his love for British football and a return to the Premier League also  appears on the cards, with Arsenal also showing interest.

Real Madrid are preparing an ambitious bid to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, according to Spanish website ElConfidencial.com.

Journalist Antonio Sanz claims that Los Blancos want the Spanish international to become a pivotal part of the the team next season, suggesting Iker Casillas could be set to leave Madrid. In fact, reports have told Los Merengues captain could sign for United in January if he keeps on warming the bench.

ElConfindencial.com argues that Real Madrid directors have long seen De Gea as a goalkeeper for the future, and his good performances at Manchester United have convinced Florentino Perez to bring him back to Madrid.

De Gea moved from Atletico Madrid to Manchester United in the summer of 2011 for 20 million euros. He has made 86 appearances for the Red Devils and secured the starting goalkeeper spot thanks to a consistent series of displays over the past year.

According to ElConfidencial.com, the 22-year-old and his family have always seen Real as a dream destination for the young Spaniard. Although United is not willing to let him go, they would reportedly agree to negotiate if the deal included Casillas moving to Manchester.

Madrid sports daily As reports today in its front page that Cristiano Ronaldo will overtake Hugo Sanchez’s goal record if he scores against Getafe in tomorrow’s La Liga clash at Santiago Bernabeu.

As publishes an interview with former Los Blancos striker. “I’m so happy that he overtakes my record. He’s a giant and he will break all records”, the Mexican told As.

If Ronaldo scores against Getafe, he will reach 207 goals with Real Madrid, becoming the 5th top scorer in the club’s history. He’s next targets would be Ferenc Puskas (242), Santillana (290), Alfredo di Stefano (307) and Raul Gonzalez (323).

Marca publishes that Carlo Ancelotti will very likely line-up Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Angel di Maria and Karim Benzema against Getafe, what they call “A high speed Real Madrid”. The Madrid paper claims the Italian manager put the four together in yesterday’s training. “Isco and Modric will rest in this game”, they state.

The most sold Spanish newspaper also brings to its front page the concerns over Xabi Alonso’s injury. “The pain in his pubic area has not dissapeared after surgery”, they claim.

Real Madrid legend Jose Maria Gutierrez, Guti, has affirmed that Los Blancos have made a clever move signing Gareth Bale and that the Welshman can form La Liga’s best partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo.

“There weren’t many players available. Bale was the best and we’re very happy that he has signed for Real Madrid”, Guti told the media at a charity golf tournament for breast cancer awareness.

When asked about which is the best pair of the league, Guti had no doubts: “Ronaldo and Bale for me. They give you more options in games when things aren’t going as planned. They’re very fast”.

Just a few days ago Guti had said Leo Messi is better than Cristiano Ronaldo. “Messi is the best in the world at the moment. It pains me to admit it, but it’s the simple truth. I am not saying that Messi is on another level than Cristiano, though. But he’s more decisive when the team really needs him. He can salvage a game by himself”, Guti had said.

In today’s press conference, Guti also gave his opinion about the controversy surrounding Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez. “It’s a delicate issue for Iker, Diego and the club. If Ancelotti has made that decision, it’s because he thinks that’s the best for Real”, he stated.
