Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez has said he his happy with life at the club under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The 31-year-old keeper was signed in January by former boss Jose Mourinho as replaced Iker Casillas in the first team for the rest of the campaign.

With Casillas back to full form and fitness, and Los Blancos being under new management, it is widely expected that Lopez will drop down to the bench at the Santiago Bernabeu.

But the former Villareal man said at a press conference that he is looking forward to the new season and hopes to improve on last season’s performances.

He stated: “I have never thought about leaving. I have confidence in my ability and about maintaining my level and improving.

“If there have been offers then it is up to Real Madrid to evaluate them, but my position has always been to stay.”

The shot stopper added that he is expecting pre-season to step up through the gears following Madrid’s 6-0 win over Bournemouth.

He said: “We have a lot of difficult pre season matches and the one against Lyon is one of those. We have to work hard to get the best possible start in the league.”

The latest Real Madrid trasnfer news includes the possibility of Los Blancos making a 50 million euros offer to sign midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The Chilean is one of Carlo Ancelotti’s favourites, and according to French website Voila, the Italian hasn’t ruled out his signing, although it seems complicated.

Juventus has refused several times to negotiate for the centre-half, but Real could have offer a big offer of 50 million in order to convince the Bianconeri, according to Voila. Vidal has a contract with Juve until 2016.

Another Juventus player who has been linked with Los Merengues, Andrea Pirlo, will not move to Bernabeu, according to Italian website CalcioNews24. The digital sports magazine claims that this transfer rumour published by Tuttosport was completely false.

If there is a player closer to signing for Real, that is Guilherme Siqueira, who has been pointed by Spanish media as the replacement for Fabio Coentrao in case the Portuguese leaves Madrid.

Spanish sports daily As reports that the Brazilian left-back has asked Granada’s president to allow him to sign for Real. Although his buy-out clause is 25 million euros, As claims Granada’s owner would let him go for 14m.

Pepe closer to Manchester City

British paper Daily Star claims that Manchester City have not given up on signing Pepe. According to the tabloid, the Citizens would be willing to offer 26 million euros for the Portuguese.

Italian sports website Tuttomercatoweb claims that the centre-half sale to City would go up to 35 million, and Real would invest that money in bringing Luis Suarez to Santiago Bernabeu for 40 million. However, Raul Albiol’s move to Napoli has made it difficult for Ancelotti to let Pepe go.

Another player who could be wanted in Manchester is Luka Modric. Manchester Evening News reports that United would go for the Croatian in case they fail on signing Cesc Fabregas.

The PSG forward, who used to play for Barcelona, has been rumoured to be on Real’s wish list following Ancelotti’s arrival in June.

Speculation has also mounted about the 31-year-old’s arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu as it is known Los Blancos are on the hunt for a striker and missed out to PSG for the signing of Edison Cavani.

Despite the talk of a move, Ibrahimovic, who scored 35 goals last season, said he is happy in Paris.

The former Milan, Inter and Ajax forward said: “It is business as usual, on vacation I am linked with all the clubs. I still have a two-year contract and there is no reason for me to leave. I belong to PSG and have not thought about my future.”

According to Marca, Levante and Elche were both interested in the stopper but Adana would prefer a move to Rayo, who are based in Madrid.

The paper said Adan would have to take a pay cut to join Rayo but he is keen to move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in order to get regular first team football under his belt.

Cristiano Ronaldo will not leave Real Madrid for Manchester United this summer, ex-Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho has said.

Speaking about his former star man at the Santiago Bernabeu, Mourinho, who is now with his former club Chelsea, said the Portuguese would not be following in his footsteps to join a club he is already familiar with.

He stated: “I know Ronaldo loves Man United and I know he loves the Premier League, but I think he is going to stay at Real.”

“It’s just a feeling, no contact, nothing just a feeling,” he added.

Mourinho also said the Red Devils would fall short in their attempts to sign Ronaldo because of Madrid’s strong financial position and lack of a need to sell.

He said: “What I know is that Real Madrid is such a rich club they don’t need to sell. It is such a rich club I think they can beat any offer a club can have on Ronaldo.”

Rafa Benitez’s new side are flush with cash having sold star striker Edison Cavani to PSG last week for 63 million euros.

Speaking after Madrid’s 6-0 friendly win over Bournemouth, Ancellotti said reports of an imminent transfer for Higuain were rubbish.

He stated: “Higuain to Napoli a done deal? Not true, I don’t have any news about this. We still have to speak about Higuain as a Real Madrid player at this point. I spoke to him this week. He is a Real Madrid player and until we have news we have to consider him as a Real Madrid player and I would like him to stay with us.”
