Youngster Jese Rodriguez continued his excellent form to lead Real Madrid’s reaction when he came in for Isco in the 60th minute.

The 20-year-old brought light out of darkness and assisted Karim Benzema to give Los Blancos a hard-fought victory against Celta Vigo that keeps Real five points behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the win with a late brace, despite Celta played a brilliant game and had enough chances to equalise or even get the three points.

In fact, Luis Enrique men should have seen themselves ahead when Charles latched onto a long ball and tried to guide a shot inside the near post. However, Diego Lopez made a superb save and denied the Brazilian’s effort.

Borja Oubina was also close to scoring in a corner kick. The ball was allowed to bounce and made it way through Celta’s midfielder at the back post. However, he sent his header high over the bar.

Los Merengues didn’t even shoot on target in the first half, with Celta having the best chances, especially through Rafinha.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men improved in the second half, with Isco and Luka Modric taking control of the game. However, their best chance was a tame effort by Isco that Yoel claimed.

However, everything changed when Jese and Gareth Bale came in. The Canary Islands-born received a cross from the Welshman and brilliantly assisted Benzema to make it 1-0.

Celta could have equalised in a free kick that Nolito fired over the bar.

Ronaldo made it 2-0 in a counter-attack on 82 minutes, and he scored his second in stoppage time after a fantastic play by Bale.
