Antonio Conte: Real Madrid attack is fearsome

Juventus manager Antonio Conte has said his side will have to be at their defensive best if they are to shut out Real Madrid’s attack tomorrow night.

The Italian champions go into the Group B match against a team that has scored 12 times in their opening three Champions League matches this season. And Los Blancos have also scored 10 goals in their last two La Liga games alone – all of which were scored by either Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Karim Benzema.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the game, Conte warned his side they would have to be switched on at the back from the first whistle until the final whistle, otherwise Carlo Ancelotti’s side could run riot.

“They are a side who have an extraordinary attack. I describe them as devastating, especially if they are allowed to play the game they prefer,” he stated.

Conte went on to add: “Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema, Di Maria, to say but a few, are extraordinary, fantastic when they have the field in front of them and room to exploit. So we have got to be careful and do what we did in Madrid, trying to avoid the mistakes we made there, and try to hurt them, but we know we are up against an extraordinarily strong attack.”
