Real Madrid goalkeeper Jesus Fernandez could be on his way to the Premier League with Aston Villa, according to reports.
English radio station talkSport said Villa boss Paul Lambert is on the search for a new stopper in a bid to improve his side’s defensive record.
The Villans struggled in the league last season and were involved in a relegation dogfight until near the end of the campaign.
Veteran keeper Shay Given is believed to be keen on a move away from Villa Park after losing his place to American stopper Brad Guzan.
Fernandez, 25, is way down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Iker Casillas, Diego Lopez and Antonio Adan all ahead of him and may look to move elsewhere to establish himself.
The keeper has made two appearances for Los Blancos.
