Sergio Ramos says Real Madrid have a bittersweet feeling after drawing with Atletico de Madrid.

The city rivals drew 0-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter final at the Vicente Calderon, although the holders of the trophy had the better opportunities on the night and could have taken a lead back to the Santiago Bernabeu next week.

As it is, it’s all to play for as Real seek to become the first team to win the Champions League back-to-back.

Speaking to journalists after the game, the vice captain on the club said: “We come away with a bittersweet taste in the mouth, because we didn’t get a goal to take a lead into the return. Madrid had control for practically the whole match, though the second half was trickier.

“We have to draw positive conclusions. It was a really taxing, intense match against opponents who always make things very difficult, and at a ground that’s always tough to go to.”

Speaking about the next game against their rivals, Ramos added: “In the end we’ve come away with a 0-0 draw and with the advantage of playing the second leg at the Bernabéu in front of our home fans. We urge the fans to go and support us and experience a unique atmosphere to try to get through to the next round. It’s an added source of motivation playing at home. We’re going to end the season well and try to win trophies.”
