Real Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos has played down speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid and says he is happy to stay with the Andalucian outfit.

The 19-year-old, who featured for his side in the 5-0 loss to the 10-time Champions League winners at the weekend, has been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu by the Spanish media as Los Blancos look to continue their policy of snapping up the best young talent across Europe.

Ceballos played a key role in his side’s promotion to La Liga last season and also featured for the Spain Under-19 side that won the European Championship earlier this summer. He has just 12 months left on his deal with Betis and told AS he is happy to remain at Pep Mel’s side to continue his footballing education.

The youngster stated: “They are only rumours, what I want is to stay at Betis. I want to continue at Betis and enjoy these fans for many years. They trust me because I have never failed them,

And he continued: “I have always given everything for this shirt and I only think about returning all of the affection that I have received from the Beticos.”
