The chairman of Dubai-based club Al Ahli has said he would not stand in the way should Fabio Cannavaro be offered a position on the coaching staff at Real Madrid.

The World Cup-winning captain, who played for Los Blancos for three years, has been linked with a coaching role at the Santiago Bernabeu should Carlo Ancelotti take over a manager.

Abdulla Al Naboodah told Dubai based paper Sport360 that he would not prevent Cannavaro joining the Spanish giants.

If Real approached I would be proud, don’t you think?” he said.

Cannavaro, who was in Madrid last weekend for the Classic Corazon Match between Real Madrid Legends and Juventus Legends, has gone on record saying countryman Ancelotti would be a great choice as manager.

“Ancelotti is a very experienced coach. He won the Champions League with Milan and has also won things in England and France. He has a good resume to do well in Madrid,” he stated.
