Due to the lack of news after a week of international games, Madrid press insist today on boring their readers with the fight to win the Ballon d’Or, which won’t be awarded until January 13th.
Marca titles “Cristiano wave,” claiming there are sectors of the press “in England, Italy, France and Brasil that have pointed at CR7 as the favourite to win the award.”
“Even Mariano Rajoy gives his opinion,” the Madrid daily highlights, pointing out Spanish Prime Minister admitted: “If I had to vote, I’d vote for Cristiano Ronaldo.”
The other main Spanish sports paper, As, also brings to its front page the fact that Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport and Rajoy positioned themselves on the Portuguese’s side.
As main focus on their front page is on Iker Casillas’ vote. The captain of the Spanish national team confessed: “I voted for Cristiano and I would be surprised if he didn’t win.”
Having a look at these front pages, one could argue that there are no news at Santiago Bernabeu. Yet, that is absolutely wrong. Keep visiting Real Madrid news to get all the updates about the team.
