Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez says he will rotate his side for tonight’s match against Malmo but wants to keep the momentum going at the same time.

Los Blancos have already secured top spot in their Champions League group and are trying to get back on track in La Liga after falling behind Barcelona. They face a tricky trip to high-flying Villarreal at the weekend.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Benitez revealed he would respect Malmo and take the game seriously as he wants the team to keep the momentum after winning their previous four games. But he admitted it is a good chance to rest some of his regulars keeping in mind some of the challenges ahead.

“Tomorrow will be a chance to rotate the squad, but always with the aim of winning and managing both things: alternating the players and winning the match so that everyone is in the best shape possible for the Villarreal clash,” he stated.

And he added: “We’re happy to be top of the group but we still want to win. This isn’t an ordinary match but while we respect Malmö we’ll also be thinking ahead to beating Villarreal. We have to try and win with a good performance in order to keep confidence high. The mood around the camp won’t change if it’s not a great match, however, if we do play well and win it will have a positive effect on morale.”
