Gonzalo Higuain has arrived to Napoli to sign the contract that will link him to the Azzurri for the next four years. Real Madrid have reached an agreement with the Italian club to sell the Argentinian for 37 million euros, plus another three depending on Napoli’s results in the next seasons.

Higuain, who arrived to Santiago Bernabeu from River Plate on 2006 for 12 million euros, will sign with the Italians after passing the medical tests. He will earn six million euros a year.

The Argentinian striker joins Raul Albiol and Jose Callejon, who have also moved from Madrid to Napoli this summer. Thus, Los Blancos have gathered a total 59 million euros this summer from the Azzurri’s.

The 25-year old has played six and a half seasons at Real Madrid, scoring 122 goals in 266 appearances, becoming the 12th top scorer in the club’s history.

With the arrival of former Real Madrid youth teams manager Rafa Benitez, Napoli is building a strong team to fight for the Scudetto and the Champions League.

After Edison Cavani’s departure to Paris Saint Germain, Higuain, who used to start from the bench in Madrid, will very likely become the first option for the striker position at Napoli, and will be a crucial piece of the team.
