Florentino Pérez started some years ago a new policy. Real Madrid will no longer sign ‘Zidanes and Pavones’ (stars and young players from Castilla) as they did at the beginning of the century. This policy was wrong and the president wanted to amend it in the next years. Now, they try to sign good and young players all over the world, so perhaps they become a star with Real Madrid.

For instance, Los Blancos signed Odegaard, Jesús Vallejo or Marco Asensio and they have now space in some important clubs. Isco or Kovacic, although they were already playing at a high level, are also an example of young players signed by Los Blancos. Now, Florentino Pérez’s club is following some Argentinian youngster who might become a star one day. Some of them are still very young but others are shining in Europe.

The Spanish magazine Don Balón published that Los Blancos are following Leandro Paredes, currently playing at Roma. The midfielder has stepped forward this season and he has participated in 11 games in Serie A, scoring one goal. Last year he played on loan at Empoli showing his quality and appearing in 33 games in Serie A. He’s only 22 years old.

Another interesting player is Giovanni Simeone, Diego Pablo Simeone’s son. Obviously, it will be very unlikely that Los Blancos could sign the Atlético Madrid coach’ son but he is showing his quality to play in any European big club. Gio scored two goals this season against Juventus securing the victory for his team, Genoa. This season, Simeone has scored 6 goals in 16 appearances and he’s only 21 years old.

Finally, Real Madrid are also following Sebastián Driussi, attacker currently playing at River Plate. With only 20 years old, he is the most important player of the squad and has found the net 10 times this season in only 14 appearances.

Real Madrid announced the renewal of the contracts of some key players at the end of this year. However, there are still some important footballers whose future is still in the air. The most important one is Pepe, who might leave Real Madrid at the end of the season to play in the Chinese League. There is no rush, but Isco Alarcón has also to renew his contract and there are several clubs interested in him.

According to Diario As, Isco doesn’t want to renew his contract yet. The Spanish playmaker wants to wait until the end of the season to make a decision. Last summer, he was about to leave Los Blancos and there were even rumours in the deadline day. Tottenham Hotspur made a big bid for him, but the Spaniard finally decided to stay in the Spanish capital.

Isco could think it was a mistake at the beginning. Zinedine Zidane didn’t give him many minutes and he even made his debut in the Champions League in the last game of the group stage. However, everything changed when Casemiro, Modric or Toni Kroos got injured. Isco and Kovacic had the opportunity to play and both shined in important games. Especially, Isco was the best player in the derby against Atlético Madrid. The Málaga born midfielder also played El Clásico against FC Barcelona.

Isco doesn’t have any problem with the extension of the new deal or with the salary. The midfielder will renew his contract until 2022 but his main doubts are about the minutes and the role he will have in the squad. For this reason, he wants to wait until the summer to see how many minutes he’s able to play with Zidane. Right now, Isco is the 16th player in the squad, with 916 minutes. Obviously, he wants more time on the pitch.

Besides, Isco can play with a lot of offers. Tottenham Hotspur or Inter Milan were chasing the playmaker last summer and they’d also try to sign him in 2017. Besides, other big teams like Juventus showed some interests. There were even rumours about an interest coming from Barcelona, especially taking in consideration that Andrés Iniesta is in the end of his career.

Manuel Pellegrini, former Real Madrid and Manchester City coach, is currently the boss of Hebei China Fortune. The team has signed really important European players in the last few months and now the Chilean manager has put his eye on a Real Madrid defender. The right back Danilo has been targeted for the Chinese team and it could be a good signing for Pellegrini’s side.

According to the Spanish newspaper OK Diario, Pellegrini wants to take advantage of the current situation of the Brazilian. Daniel Carvajal is the owner of the position in the right back although Danilo played at the beginning more minutes with Zinedine Zidane. The Brazilian has not convinced both the coach and the supporters and Real Madrid could take this opportunity and sell him to recover the investment.

Los Blancos paid more than €31M to Porto in 2015 for the transfer. However, Danilo has never shown his quality in this time and Carvajal has proved as a better right back for Los Blancos. Actually, at the moment no one can argue that the Spaniard is the best man for this position.

For this reason, Danilo can think in moving forward and leaving Real Madrid. Chinese teams usually pay really high salaries and could be an option for him. Besides, Pellegrini’s side has at the moment very important players in the squad such as Gael Kakuta, Stephane MBia, Gervinho or Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Danilo is only 25 years old, so he has time to improve. This season, he has played only 531 minutes in La Liga in six games, scoring one goal against Osasuna. In the Champions League, Danilo also played against Legia and Borussia Dortmund. However, his appearances have not been astonishing and he still shows doubts about his performances.

The Norwegian player Martin Odegaard is very close to leave Madrid and join Heerenveen, from the Eredivise. The young winger is in Holland trying to sign the new contract with the Dutch club. Odegaard will join the team on loan, the best way to keep improving.

Martin Odegaard was about to leave Real Madrid last summer and play in the Ligue One team Rennes. However, FIFA stopped the transfer because Odegaard was only 17 years old and there were some legal problems. Now, the winger has turned 18, so he can leave on loan Real Madrid and keep growing in a good European team.

Odegaard thinks that Eredivise could be the best competition for his skills. The Dutch league is very competitive and offensive, perfect for a winger. Besides, Odegaard could have the opportunity to play in Europe, because Heerenveen is currently in the fourth position of his championship, so they might play the Europa League next year.

Odegaard arrived to Real Madrid two years ago from Strømsgodset. He has been playing in Castilla, in the third division of the Spanish football, in the last two years. However, the team failed to be promoted to the second division and the younger should leave the club if he wants to step up in his career. Zidane made him played some minutes this season with the first team in the Copa del Rey fixture against Cultural Leonesa.

Since his arrival, Real Madrid have been trying to find a suitable team to give Odegaard on loan. At the beginning, Odegaard parents preferred the Bundesliga, a tournament with several foreigners and good for a Norwegian footballer. Then, Rennes appeared and Zidane trusted the French team as a good option for Odegaard. Finally, it looks like Heerenveen will be his next destination. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Real Madrid former striker, was one of the stars of the Dutch club.

Real Madrid finished the year in the best way possible winning the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan against Kashima Antlers. Now, it’s time to receive several awards recognizing the great year Los Blancos have just finished. Real Madrid won three titles –Champions League, European Supercup and FIFA Club World Cup– so they’ve been the best club in 2016.

At least, this was the prize given in Dubai on Tuesday. Real Madrid won the Globe Soccer Award to the best club in 2016. But it wasn’t the only prize they received, because Florentino Pérez was awarded as the best president and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player.

Real Madrid president travelled to Dubai to receive the trophies and he spoke about the great year: “It’s difficult to explain what is Real Madrid. We have 11 Champions League, 32 Ligas, 5 World Cups… I arrived in the year 2000, when he won the award of the best club in the 20th Century. What I’ve done if to try to be equal to the challenge and keep feeding the Real Madrid myth and legend. The origin of everything arrived in the 50’s with Santiago Bernabéu and Di Stéfano”, Florentino Pérez said in the show.

The president also gave the award to the best player of the year. “Cristiano Ronaldo, of course”, said Pérez in English. This is another award Cristiano Ronaldo can add to his museum after a perfect year. The Portuguese also won the Euro with his national team and he ended the year with the Golden Ball, the most important trophy individually.

Cristiano Ronaldo had to train in Madrid, so he couldn’t travel to Dubai but he sent a message: “Individually and collectively this has been my best year. We’ve won the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup with Real Madrid, the first important trophy with Portugal, the Golden Ball… I can’t ask anything else”, Cristiano Ronaldo said.

“To the people doubting about me, Real Madrid, the Portuguese national team, I can only say: We’ve won everything. It’s been an incredible year and I’m very happy. I have to thank my team mates from Portugal and Real Madrid, to our coach Fernando Santos, who I hope he wins the trophy to the best coach. I will try to do the same the next year. It’s difficult but not impossible”, Cristiano said.

Juventus want to make an extra effort so they can compete with the best clubs in Europe. The Torino team have won the last Scudetti in Italy but they’ve failed to win the Champions League trophy, their great goal. The Italian team arrived to the final two years ago but they lost against Barcelona in Berlin.

In this step up in the quality of the squad, James Rodríguez could be a safe investment. The Italian team is able to make a huge bid to bring the Colombian to Italy. “Juve-James. Via Libre” is the first page of Corriere dello Sport, the Italian newspaper. The sentence could be translated as “Free go”. The Italian champions would have the money to make an offer to Florentino Pérez, who won’t accept less than €75M.

After lifting the FIFA Clubs World Cup, James Rodríguez spoke about his situation at Real Madrid and his lack of minutes. The playmaker is not happy staying on the bench and he might change team in June. It’s very unlikely that the Colombian could leave the club in January but all the options are opened.

In the meantime, Juventus are preparing the money to undertake the transfer fee. Last summer, the Italian champion paid €90M for Gonzalo Higuaín to Napoli, the most expensive transfer in the Italian history. With James Rodríguez, they would bring more quality to a winning squad, currently in the first position of the table in Serie A.

Juventus are trying to sign some other players in the winter transfer window. For instance, Axel Witsel, from Zenit, Bakayoko, from Mónaco, or Tolisso, Olympique Lyonnais, are in the list.

“We have to respect our balance spreadsheet, but Juventus want to position among the best teams in the world and this will always be our ambitious goal”, Beppe Marotta, the sporting director, said recently.

We are just finishing 2016 but Real Madrid and Adidas are getting ready for 2018. Los Blancos marketing engine never stops and the club is working in the new kit for the next season. Footy Headlines have unveiled the new kit for the next season and we can see several news on them.

Los Blancos go back several years and they come back with a retro kit. We can see Di Stéfano or Koppa on those t-shirts, reminding us to the club in the 60’s. Besides, Adidas recover the collar and the German brand make significant changes in the appearance.

As you can see in the picture, Los Blancos still have the white t-shirt, obviously, with the purple and black stripes. It’s quite different from the one Real Madrid have right now.

The training t-shirt is quite similar. In the shoulders, the colour is not as white as in the chest.

The jacket for the training sessions and for the players on the bench would be very similar as well. Adidas, in this case, have designed a very uniform line.

Finally, these are the training pants for the players. They all keep the white colour all over the surface.

We still have to wait to see the second and the third uniform for the next season. These past years, Real Madrid have changed the third kit, creating some controversy depending on the colour. For instance, one year they created a pink one and it was a best seller in the shops. Obviously, Real Madrid are one of the most important clubs in terms of marketing and they are developing a new kit for the next season.

Pepe has an extraordinary offer from China and his contract ends at the end of the season, in June 2017. The Portuguese full back will be 34 by then and he could sign his last huge contract in football. Although he’s been one of the most important players in the last seasons and a crucial part in the last Champions League trophy, it’s quite likely that Real Madrid supporters have to say goodbye to Pepe.

However, Los Blancos have the replacement already in their head and he’s inside the club. Jesús Vallejo signed last year from Zaragoza to Real Madrid, who gave him on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt. In Bundesliga, the defense is shining and he has become one of the best players in the competition. Actually, his coach, Niko Kovac, only has good words for him and the German team has already tried to extend his loan contract.

Spanish newspaper Marca published today that Real Madrid will bring back Jesús Vallejo if Pepe finally leaves. It will be a smooth decision so Varane becomes Sergio Ramos’ pair and Nacho and Jesús Vallejo will be two young replacement on the bench gaining experience.

Jesús Vallejo will turn 20 the next 5th of January and, despite his youth, he’s shining already in Germany. He has played 16 games, 14 in the starting eleven, and he’s helping his team in an amazing season. Eintracht are currently fourth in Bundesliga, occupying Champions League positions.

Los Blancos should be calm if Pepe finally decides to leave. The squad and the supporters already understand the possibility that the Portuguese says goodbye at the end of the current season. Luckily, Real Madrid signings policy secures the future in the defense line. Jesús Vallejo could be the perfect replacement and Zidane has already agreed with this possibility. Now, the decision is on Pepe.

Keylor Navas has saved Real Madrid in several games, he is a really good teammate, he operated on his summer vacations to be ready when the season begins, he usually spends several extra hours at Valdebebas training with Cristiano Ronaldo and he always says that he is very happy at Madrid. Why should we change him?

We think Keylor Navas is the perfect keeper for Real Madrid and many Real Madrid supporter will think the same as us. This is the third year of the Costa Rican keeper at Real Madrid and his performances have been really good. The Levente’s former signed with Los Blancos for an amount of €10M and now a days it’s really difficult to find a good keeper as Keylor with that prize.

The last time Sevilla eliminated Real Madrid was in the the semifinal of La Copa (1954-1955), when the team led by Helenio Herrera did a great comeback at Santiago Bernabéu (1-3) and in the second leg the match finished 5-0 with goals of Espina, Arza (2) and Loren(2).

In the present century, Real Madrid and Sevilla have faced in La Copa del Rey twice, both in the semifinals and in both times Los Blancos could arrive to the final. The first one was in 2004 where Real Madrid won Sevilla in the first leg 2-0 with goals of Solari and Raúl. In the second leg Sevilla could not make a comeback winning 1-0. The most recent was in 2011 where Los Blancos won the first leg 0-1 and in the second leg the repeat victory winning 2-0.

The last time these two teams coincided was in last summer where Real Madrid won the European Super Cup in the extra with goal of Carvajal. This match finished 3-2 with goals of Asensio form outside the box, Sergio Ramos tied the match once in the last minutes, and Carvajal gave the victory goal in the extra time from a great play of Real Madrid’s right back in the minute 119.
