Every week Real Madrid lose one player. Last week it was Toni Kroos the one that suffered an important injury, missing the rest of the year. Now, we’ve known that Álvaro Morata will be out the next month for muscular problems suffered with the Spanish national team.

Real Madrid published a statement where they announced the injury of Morata: “After the test made before the training session to our player Álvaro Morata in the Hospital Universitario Sanitas La Moraleja, he’s been diagnosed with an injury grade 2 in the right biceps. Pending evolution”.

Therefore, Morata will miss the derby next Saturday at Vicente Calderón and El Clásico in December. Besides, the Spanish forward cannot play in the Champions League against Sporting Portugal and Borussia Dortmund. Hopefully, the former Juventus player can be fit to play the FIFA World Cup in Japan.

Real Madrid are quite angry with the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) because Morata ended up the game against Macedonia with some problems. However, the striker had some minutes in the second half in the game against England at Wembley. There, the footballer finally felt the problem and he will have to rest.

With Morata’s injured, Zinedine Zidane has even more problems. Toni Kroos, Pepe and Casemiro will also miss the derby against Atlético Madrid, whereas Benzema is a major doubt. If the French player is not fit, Zidane might change the formation and introduce a fourth midfielder. Perhaps, Lucas Vázquez could have his chance from the beginning because he’s been playing well every time he has the chance.

At this point, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Mariano Díaz are the only strikers available for Zinedine Zidane. However, the squad is quite large this year and there are more options. James Rodríguez or Lucas Vázquez will wait for an opportunity. Meanwhile, in the midfield, Isco, Modric and Kovacic should start the game.

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is in talks to renew his contract with his club expiring in 2020. However, the deal is still very far away as both parties disagree in the amount of money the forward should get every year.

According to The Telegraph, Kane wants around 140.00€ per week (around €7M per year) and the chairman Daniel Levy doesn’t want to arrive to these numbers. Levy’s idea is not paying more than 140.000€ per week to any player of the squad, even if his name is Harry Kane. The club knows that they need to negotiate with the star because his current salary is much lower that what he can get in any other big team in Europe but the Spurs don’t want to break the salary limits in the squad.

For this reason, according to the Spanish newspaper OKDiario, the striker is using the interest of some big clubs of Europe to put more pressure on Levy’s shoulders. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea or Manchester United could arrive up to €12M per year.

Kane has been very important for Tottenham Hotspur in the last seasons. He helped a lot with his 25 goals last season to fight for the Premier League title until the end and qualify for the Champions League this season. However, the forward is having some issues with the injuries and this season he has scored so far only 3 goals in the Premier League, including the net in the last game in the North London derby.

Real Madrid are having a look at the striker market. The Argentinian striker from Juventus Dybala is also in talks to renew his contract but Real Madrid might be interested as well in bidding for him. Besides, Patrick-Emerick Aubameyang has always said that his dream is to play with Los Blancos. However, currently Real Madrid have two goods strikers i the squad -Karim Benzema and Álvaro Morata- and looks unlikely that the club decides to sell any of them.

28th May 2016 Real Madrid 1 – Atlético Madrid 1

The most recent memory of a derby is the best one. Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid played for the second time in three years the Champions League final. San Siro was the stadium chosen by the UEFA and Atlético claimed revenge after their cruel defeat in Lisbon. However, Los Blancos won again the Champions League in the penalty shootout. Sergio Ramos opened the score and Carrasco drew in the second half. In the penalty lottery, Juanfran missed his penalty and Cristiano Ronaldo scored the last one. The cup went to Madrid… to Santiago Bernabéu again.

22nd May 2015 Real Madrid 1 – Atlético Madrid 0

We want to continue the good memories in the Champions League. After winning the final in Lisbon, Real Madrid and Atlético meet again in the quarter finals only one year later. Los Blancos played a great game at Calderón but they only could draw (0-0). In the second leg, Real Madrid tried harder but only found the net in the last minute thanks to Chicharito Hernández. Atlético were playing with 10 footballers then because Arda Turan was sent off.

24th May 2014 Real Madrid 4 – Atlético Madrid 1

It is one of the happiest memories of every Real Madrid fan. La Décima. The Tenth. Los Blancos were chasing the Champions League trophy for 12 years and they finally arrived to the final in Lisbon. Atlético take the lead after a big mistake from Iker Casillas and Godín took the opportunity. The game was lost but Sergio Ramos header appeared in the 93rd minute. Then, in the extra time, Los Blancos thrashed the city rivals to win the 10th Champions League.

27th April 2013 Atlético Madrid 1 – Real Madrid 2

It was the last victory in La Liga at Vicente Calderón for Los Blancos. José Mourinho was training Real Madrid and they started the game really bad. Atlético take the lead in the 3rd minute thanks to a Falcao header. However, Real Madrid came back with Di María as a star, kicking a free kick, touched by Juanfran, and scoring the second goal after an assist from Benzema.

26th November 2011 Real Madrid 4 – Atlético Madrid 1

Atlético Madrid have won several times in their lasts visits to Santiago Bernbéu. However, not long time ago, Los Blancos thrashed Atlético at home. For instance, in the season 2011/12, when Real Madrid won the league with 100 points, the team managed by Mourinho beat Atlético 4-1. Adrián opened the scorer but Courtois was sent off minutes later. Real Madrid took the opportunity to score four goals.

Colombia lost against Argentina (3-0) with Leo Messi punishing Pékerman side. The Barcelona player scored the first goal from a free kick and gave two assists to Pratto and Ángel di María. With this result, Colombia risk now to miss the World Cup because they are sixth in the South American Group with 18 points, one point behind Argentina, who would go to the playoff.

Colombia were in the correct way to go to Russia but they haven’t won in the last three games, drawing two and losing against Argentina. In San Juan, the team had a poor performance and all the critics highlighted the bad game of James Rodríguez. The Real Madrid player is always a leader in his national team but now he also risks to miss the World Cup.

In the past months, James Rodríguez played with Colombia and showed his quality. This was used to criticize Zidane for not including him in the starting eleven. Even Pékeman didn’t understand why James didn’t have more opportunities with Real Madrid. Now, the Colombian press cannot hide the bad moment of the playmaker.

In the newspaper El Espectador they say: “James Rodríguez confirmed that he is not at his best. Anxious, inaccurate and more focus on fighting than playing”, the press said. Another one, El Tiempo, accused Real Madrid: “The few minutes in the Spanish team makes the effect in the 10, who cannot find his place. His magic is turn off and his inside fury, turn on”.

After this poor performances, James Rodríguez have to go back and convince Zinedine Zidane that he is able to play. With Casemiro and Kroos out of the team, the Colombian could have an opportunity to start the derby. However, Isco, who scored a great goal against England, and Kovacic are supposed to have priority.

15th of November 2006. Real Madrid unveiled a new and unknown player at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. It was Marcelo Vieira da Silva Junior. He arrived from the Brazilian club Fluminense after paying €6,5M. It looked quite a high transfer fee for an unknown left back without experience signed in the winter transfer market. However in 10 years Marcelo has become one of the best left back in the world and one of Real Madrid captains.

In his first season at Real Madrid, he already played 6 games but only one in the starting eleven -in the defeat against Racing Santander-. He was still very young and inexperienced and he had some problems to adapt himself to the European football, especially in the defensive stage.

In his second season, he had more opportunities and Marcelo played 24 games in La Liga, showing what he was capable of. In the next season, his football got even better and he scored his first goals in La Liga. Actually, the third and the fourth season were the best for the Brazilian left back offensively, scoring 4 goals in La Liga in each of the season.

His best memories in the club came in 2014. Marcelo had some problems before the Champions League final and Carlo Ancelotti thought that Fabio Coentrao was better defensively. Actually, the Portuguese played also in the semifinals against Bayern Múnich. However, Real Madrid were losing the final and Marcelo entered in the second half. The Brazilian scored the third goal, securing the 10th Champions League for Real Madrid. He was also present two years after in the next Champions League final against Atlético, lifting the cup as a captain after Sergio Ramos.

In order to thank the effort given in these 10 years, Florentino Pérez gave a t-shirt remembering his 10 years together with a watch. Marcelo played 372 official games with Real Madrid scoring 26 goals. He has won 3 La Liga trophies, two Copa del Rey, two Spanish Supercups, two Champions League, two European Supercups and one FIFA World Cup with Real Madrid.

Karim Benzema is not having his best season at Real Madrid. Currently, the French striker is injured and he risks to miss the derby against Atlético Madrid. Benzema has scored so far 4 goals in La Liga and one in the Champions League. Some Real Madrid supporters want Álvaro Morata to play instead of the French attacker because the Spaniard is the top scorer player for Real Madrid in all competitions.

But Benzema has competitors not only inside Real Madrid but also outside. According to the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Real Madrid are interested in signing the Juventus forward Paulo Dybala. The Argentinian is only 23 years old and he is also injured right now. Juventus are negotiating an extension of his contract but the player hasn’t signed anything yet.

Dybala arrived last year from Palermo after paying a transfer fee of €32M. The former Palermo striker scored 19 goals in his first season for Juventus in Serie A and this year he has found the net 3 times so far. His good numbers have called the attention of all big clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid.

The Italian newspaper says that Real Madrid could be interested in signing the player and form a new striker line with the ‘BCD’ (Bale, Cristiano and Dybala). However, the Spanish giants cannot sign new player until 2018 due to the FIFA ban and other clubs like FC Barcelona have also asked about Dybala situation.

The Spanish newspaper Diario As says that Dybala could become the third best paid player in the squad with this new contract. Florentino Pérez is keen to offer up to €15M per season. Only Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo would earn more that the Argentinian striker. However, having Morata and Benzema in the squad, it looks quite unlikely that Florentino Pérez, who is very fond of Benzema, decides to bring Dybala to Madrid.

Good news for Zinedine Zidane. The captain Sergio Ramos has trained again the the rest of the squad and he should be fit to face Atlético Madrid next Saturday in the derby. The Spanish full back got injured one month ago with a sprained knee but he has shorten the timing and he could start on Saturday.

The players had the weekend off and some of them spent some time with their finally, including Sergio Ramos, who showed in his Instagram account his weekend in London with his girlfriend, Spanish TV presenter Pilar Rubio. After his short holidays, Sergio Ramos came back to the Spanish capital and trained with the rest of the group on Monday afternoon.

Sergio Ramos should start the game against Atlético Madrid with Raphael Varane as the full backs. Last year, Sergio Ramos made an important mistake at Vicente Calderón committing penalty, but Keylor Navas saved the shot. Now, he will have his first game in 35 days in a month in a very difficult stadium. He got injured in the 8th of October in a match against Albania with Spain.

Apart from Sergio Ramos, Zidane is concerned with Matteo Kovacic and Karim Benzema. The Croatian midfielder didn’t train with the rest of his team mates but should be ready to replace Toni Kroos in the midfield. Luka Modric is also back to Madrid and he will be the key piece in the midfield. Benzema is still doubt for the clash and he hasn’t trained in the last 10 days. The French striker also missed the last home game against Leganés for muscular problems. Morata would be his replacement.

Marcelo has also come back from Brazil and could train the whole week and should be ready to play in the left back. Brazilian midfielder Casemiro and Portuguese defender Pepe will miss the derby as they continue with their problems. On Thursday, Zidane will have all the players to prepare the clash against Atlético Madrid on Saturday.

Barcelona are looking forward to signing Cancelo because they want a right back with similar characteristics as Dani Alves.

Cristiano Ronaldo has recommended this player to Real Madrid because the Portuguese star knows that he can grow even more as a football player. Cristiano has been with Cancelo in the Portugal national team and their relationship is excellent.

Real Madrid have two incredible right backs despite Danilo has not yet triumphed at Santiago Bernabéu. The Brazilian right back signed with Los Blancos two years ago for an amount of €30M from Porto. This is his second year at Madrid and he has only played 28 games in the regular season with Los Blancos. Danilo is a great player but he has not shown his quality because he doesn’t have the necessary continuity to reach the level shown with Porto.

De Gea, who has consolidated in Lopetegui’s line up, made several saves and he was decisive in Spain’s victory. Just a couple of days later, his name is again related to Los Blancos.

According to Marca, although Real Madrid are satisfied with the performances of Keyor Navas and Casilla, Los Blancos continue believing that De Gea is the perfect keeper and Florentino Pérez will reconsider his signing at the end of this season.

De Gea’s signing won’t be easy because after Real Madrid’s failure a couple of summers ago in the attempt to sign the Spanish goalkeeper, his price has grown considerably. In fact, according to Marca, the price of De Gea will be around €60M, a very high amount if we are talking about a goalkeeper. With José Mourinho at Old Trafford’s bench the negotiations will be even more difficult. The Portuguese manager demanded in his arrival to Manchester the guarantee that David De Gea will not leave the Red Devils.

Real Madrid have two great goalkeepers in these moments. When Iker Casillas left Madrid, one of the main concerns was not finding a replacement. Keylor was maybe the best player in the last year especially at the beginning of the season. The Costa Rican goalkeeper is actually one of the best keepers in the world being a key player for Zidane.
