Real Madrid are always the big favourites to win their games according to the bookmakers. However, the first game of the season is not easy at all and the bookmakers pay very good money for Real Madrid to beat Real Sociedad in Anoeta.

Last year, with Rafa Benítez on the bench, Los Blancos failed to win the first game in La Liga and drew against Sporting Gijón, a new promoted team. With this lesson in mind, Real Madrid expect to start well the season and beat Real Sociedad, as they did last season, when Gareth Bale scored the only goal of the game.

In Betfair, for instance, you can back Real Madrid to win with good odds. The British company pays ¾ Real Madrid to win, whereas the draw pays 14/5 and Real Sociedad victory is 4/1. Another good bet could bet both teams to score, as Real Madrid have received many goals in this pre-season, including two goals in the European Supercup and three goals against Stade Reims. In Betfair you can bet ‘Both teams to score’ with 7/10 odds.

Gareth Bale was the leader last season on the pitch when Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad. For this game, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo are ruled out for the clash, so Gareth Bale has to step up and lead the team. If the Welsh scores the first goal of the game, Betfair pays 9/2 and if he scores at any moment the odd is 7/5. If the former Tottenham player is able to score two goals, the odd is as high as 6/1.

However, the most likely player to score a goal against Real Sociedad is Álvaro Morata. If the Spaniard scores the first goal of the game, Betfair gives you 7/2 and if Morata scores a goal in any moment, the odd is slightly lower, 5/4.

Zinedine Zidane has a huge problem for the first match of the season against Real Sociedad. Cristiano Ronaldo can´t arrive to this match because he is still injured of his ankle since the Euro final in France and he he will return for the second match of the season. While Karim Benzema has pain in the hip and there´s no date for his return.

Last time Cristiano and Benzema weren´t available for Zidane was curiously against Real Sociedad last season when Gareth Bale became the great leader of Real Madrid scoring the goal of the victory.

This problem gives an opportunity to other players of the squad. Asensio and Morata have a great chance to try to convince Zidane that they can play in Real Madrid, a very difficult team for the youngsters. Asensio did a great preseason and this weekend he has a difficult test in Anoeta. Morata wants to show that he can play in Real Madrid, the team of his dreams.

Another option for Zidane is James Rodriguez. Nobody knows what is going to happen with James but Zidane has a great player and maybe it´s a good moment to recuperate the best James we all saw last years. Real Madrid rejected many offers for James Rodriguez this summer and the Colombian insured that he wanted to stay in Real Madrid and succeed here.

Last year Benzema and Cristiano scored a lot of goals in the regular season. The French striker scored 24 and Cristiano 35 goals. Zidane has to think who could be the players that could replace these two killers in the first month of the season. Both were the top scorer of Real Madrid last season and replace them is a very difficult decision but now is a good chance to believe in the rest of the players of the squad.

Zinedine Zidane said in press conference after Santiago Bernabéu Trophy that the squad was closed. However, there are still some days left until the end of the transfer market and some players are not happy with their situation at Real Madrid.

James Rodríguez has still the door opened to leave the club if a good offer arrives to Bernabéu. But the Colombian is not the only midfielder who can leave the club in the next few days. According to the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Mateo Kovacic is the first option of Milan to reinforce the midfield.

The Croatian midfielder has been an important player in this pre-season for Zidane. Kovacic even played in the first official game of the season against Sevilla in the European Supercup and did a good performance. However, last season Zidane wasn’t very happy with his performance and Kovacic had very few opportunities during La Liga.

For this reason, Kovacic is still opened to the possibility of leaving the club. He played really well with his former team, Inter Milan, so he has still good prestige in Serie A. Some reports said that Juventus or Inter Milan were interested in the player but recently Milan has shown their intention to sign the Croatian.

The ‘rossonero’ team made official this week the signing of José Ernesto Sosa. Now, Galliani is working to bring Diawara (Bologna) or Mateo Kovacic (Real Madrid) to San Siro. Milan can offer a loan deal to Real Madrid, so the player could come back to Bernabéu after the current season. Another option would be signing a deal similar to the one of Morata with Juventus, so Milan could buy Kovacic with a ‘buy back’ clause for Real Madrid.

Kovacic is only 22 years old, so he has still a lot of potential to become a great player. In his first season at Real Madrid, the midfielder played 25 games in La Liga but only 8 in the starting eleven without scoring any goal. In his last season at Inter Milan, Kovacic scored 5 goals in 35 appearances in Serie A.

Los Blancos are very quite in this summer transfer windows. The only big signing so far was Álvaro Morata’s returning home from Juventus after a €30M transfer fee. Marco Asensio also came back after a season on loan. Both were unveiled at Santiago Bernabéu stadium this week despite the fact that the Spaniards had already played for Real Madrid.

The club is still looking for interesting players in the market despite Zinedine Zidane said early this week that the squad is closed. If Real Madrid are looking to find a new player, the midfield is the position in the field where they might face more problems. Especially, in the stopper position, with Casemiro as the only player to cover a critical position.

One of the players who might end up at Bernabéu is Moussa Sissoko. The French player is currently playing for Newcastle United in the Championship and he wants to leave the English second division and play for a top flight club.

According to the bookmakers, Real Madrid are the team with more odds to get Sissoko. In Betfair you can back Real Madrid to sign Sissoko with 8/11 odds. It’s surprising the low odds for Los Blancos signing this good player.

In the race to get Sissoko, Real Madrid would have to beat Juventus (2/1) or the Premier League teams Arsenal and Everton (4/1). With less probabilities to sign the French player -always according to Betfair- are Liverpool (6/1), PSG (10/1), West Ham (12/1) or Tottenham (14/1).

The season has already started in the Championship but Sissoko hasn’t played any minute yet. Last season, Sissoko appeared in 37 games for the Magpies scoring only 1 goal. Despite his good performance, Newcastle couldn’t avoid relegation.

There are only 15 days left in the summer transfer window. In this time, Real Madrid have to close some deals so the players who don’t have space in the squad can find another team to play some minutes in the season. Especially, some of the young players have still to know their future.

The Spanish Dominican forward Mariano is one of those. The striker is very close to reach an agreement with Leganés, a team just promoted to La Liga for the first time in their history. It could be a good option for the player because Leganés is in Madrid region, so the forward shouldn’t change city and leave his environment.

Leganés is willing to include a clause in the contract where the striker could finish the loan in December. Real Madrid would like to include this option, just in case the team needs another striker and Mariano is performing a good first half of the season.

Mariano has done a really good pre-season with the first team. He scored even a goal yesterday in the Santiago Bernabéu trophy, helping the team to beat Stade Reims. He’s having some opportunities in the summer and he’s taking advantage of the minutes he’s enjoyed so far, scoring another goal in the tour around the United States.

Last year, Mariano was one of the best players of Castilla, the second team of Real Madrid. However, they failed to be promoted to the second division and some of the best players have to leave the club to look for minutes in La Liga. Right now, with Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Álvaro Morata, there is no space for another attacker in the squad.

Along with Mariano, Real Madrid need to find another club for Odegaard. The Norwegian is about to close a deal with Rennes but it’s not official yet.

Zinedine Zidane spoke after the Santiago Bernabéu trophy in press conference where the coach was asked about the transfer market and his feelings about the team only five days before the start of the season in San Sebastian against Real Sociedad.

In the last days, Cesc Fàbregas has been linked to Real Madrid after started on the bench in Chelsea’s first game in the Premier League. “If you want to put another midfielder in the pitch is complicated. I’m going to have a squad with three or four players aren’t going to be called for the games, so another player in the midfield is complicated”, Zidane explained.

The French coach is not expecting another player but he could welcome a good signing: “I don’t think any other player will arrive and I’m happy with the squad. Anything can happen but I’m happy. Sometimes is not necessary to spend money. I’m very happy with the squad. With these players we won the Champions League. I want to work hard during the year. Things don’t happen by playing in Real Madrid but for working hard”.

If no one is arriving to Real Madrid, it’s going to be difficult to sell any player. In the last hours there were a lot of rumours linking James Rodríguez with Chelsea. The Colombian played well against Stade Reims and even scored a goal in the second half: “James is here, I’m happy with his game and he’s going to stay. I’m fed up of answering this. My reply is not going to change”, Zidane said.

In the morning, Marco Asensio was unveiled as new Real Madrid player. Afterwards, the Spanish playmaker started again the game: “He knows what he is going to have. I’m not going to trick anybody. I’m going to try to make the best team in every game”, Zidane said about his options to play in the first team.

Real Madrid beat 5-3 Stade Reims in Santiago Bernabéu Trophy in the last friendly game of Los Blancos before starting La Liga the next Sunday against Real Sociedad. The supporters enjoyed a big party in the first game in their stadium in two months.

The party started with the captains Marcelo and Sergio Ramos offering the Champions League title and the European Supercup trophy with all the players in the pitch, including Cristiano Ronaldo or Pepe, who are still injured.

The trophy wanted to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first European Cup won against Stade Reims in 1956. Now, the French team is in second division and they were an easy rival for Los Blancos, who made a lot of tests before the start of the season.

James Rodríguez or Marco Asensio were in the starting eleven along with Álvaro Morata, all three protagonists in the last days for being linked to another team -the Colombian- or for their unveiling in the stadium.

The game was a party for the supporters in the Bernabéu stadium. Stade Reims scored first but Nacho and Sergio Ramos, both with a header, changed the result. Morata also scored his first goal at Bernabéu before the half time. In the second time, James Rodríguez and Mariano also joined the party, whereas the French team arrived very often in front of Casilla and score two other goals to finish the 5-3 score.

The next game for Real Madrid will be on Sunday against Real Sociedad in the start of La Liga. It will be a tougher match for Los Blancos, who cannot count with Cristiano Ronaldo or Benzema, both still injured. Zidane had good news in the trophy because Toni Kroos and Gareth Bale played finally their first minutes in the pre-season. Both should be ready for the weekend in a promising start of the season.

Chelsea started their season yesterday with a last-minute win against West Ham in the first game of the Premier League. The ‘blues’ beat the East London side in the 90th minute thanks to Diego Costa’s goal. Cesc Fàbregas didn’t start the game and there are a lot of voices saying that the catalan might end up playing for Real Madrid.

Cesc Fàbregas doesn’t have a good relationship with his new coach, Antonio Conte. The proof is that the Spanish midfielder didn’t play against West Ham and Cesc could be starting to look for a new club where he can enjoy more minutes.

On the other hand, Real Madrid are still looking for another midfielder, especially if James Rodríguez finally leaves the club. Los Blancos have failed to sign Kanté and Pogba, whereas Sissoko’s signing is also very complicated. For this reason, Cesc Fàbregas could be a good option.

The catalan played 37 games last season in Premier League scoring 5 goals and he’s been a very important player at Chelsea since his arrival in 2014. At the time, the West London club paid €33M to Barcelona, where he played three full seasons. According to the reports, Cesc’s price at the moment is between €20M and €25M.

Real Madrid’s interest for Cesc Fàbregas is not news. Los Blancos showed also some interest back in 2011, when the midfielder joined Barcelona. Fàbregas was raised in Barcelona but he left the club very young to play for Arsenal. He became a star at the Emirates but left Wenger to join again Barcelona under Guardiola’s management. However, it didn’t go as expected and Fàbregas left the club after three years to go back to the Premier League and sign for gunners’ rivals Chelsea.

If Cesc Fàbregas finally signs for Real Madrid, he would be the player number 29 to play in both Real Madrid and Barcelona. The last footballer to do that was Javier Saviola, who didn’t succeed in either of the teams.

Marco Asensio was the protagonist today at Santiago Bernabéu together with Florentino Pérez. The president wanted to be present to unveil Marco Asensio, one of the most promising players in the Spanish football.

The playmaker was dressed in a business attire and couldn’t avoid to cry when he had to speak in front of the media: “It’s a moving day. It’s something I’ve dreamt since I was a child. I’ll give everything for this t-shirt”, Asensio said.

Marco Asensio impressed everybody in the tour around the United States and he played really well in the first big game of the season against Sevilla in the European Supercup, scoring the first game of the season: “I’m very happy to arrive, get the first title and, on top of that, score a goal. I’ll keep working in the training sessions to have more minutes”, Asensio said.

The young midfielder arrived from Espanyol after a successful season on loan in the Barcelona club. Real Madrid signed him two years ago from Mallorca, his home club: “Since I was 10 I played there (Mallorca). I have to thank them a lot. I grew up there, I was educated… A big part of myself today is for Mallorca and the education I got”.

Asensio also spoke about Zidane: “He trusts me, he told me he was very happy and he wanted me to stay. Zidane assured me he was going to be fair with me, so I have to work hard in the training sessions”.

Asensio was unveiled at 13.00 (local time) for Florentino Pérez, as he did yesterday with Morata: “Today is a big day because we’re welcoming a great footballer. He has great quality and he always dreamt to wear this t-shirt. I know this was your wish and you really feel this club. You’re the youngest player to score a goal with this t-shirt in an European competition”, Florentino remarked.

From now on, Asensio has the responsibility of wearing the Real Madrid t-shirt. The first time will be tonight, in the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy against Stade Reims.

Los Blancos are ready to play the first game of the season at Santiago Bernabéu stadium and see their supporters two months after. In this time, the club has won the 11th Champions League and the European Supercup trophies.

Real Madrid will face Stade de Reims at Chamartín tonight (21.30 UK time) in the Santiago Bernabéu trophy, the traditional game played in the stadium to unveil the season in front of the madridistas supporters. This time, the rival was chosen to remember the first European Cup won against the French side won in 1956 4-3 with goals scored by Di Stéfano, Rial and Marquitos.

Santiago Bernabéu Trophy is a friendly game host by Real Madrid and, usually, this is the first time the supporters can see their favourite players in their stadium. The trophy had a long tradition but in recent years the game wasn’t played due to the tight calendar.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe or Fabio Coentrao will miss the game as they are still training on their own. All three arrived late from their holidays and they are not expected to play in the trophy. Coentrao needs still some time to recover from his injury, whereas Cristiano Ronaldo should be ready in some days after getting injured in the Euro final.

Karim Benzema will also miss the game. The French player didn’t train yesterday as he’s still having problems after forcing himself to play the European Supercup. Good news are that both Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos will play their first minutes in the pre-season.

Usually this game is used to unveil the new players to the supporters. Galácticos signings played their first minutes with the Real Madrid t-shirt in the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy. However, this year Marco Asensio and Álvaro Morata are the only two new faces in the squad and both played in the past for the team. No matter that, it will be a night to enjoy at Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
