Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is to be the subject of a new documentary, it has been revealed.

The 30-year-old striker teased his social media followers on Monday with a preview and confirmed the documentary would be released later this year.

The film, called ‘Ronaldo’, will focus on the Portugal and Real Madrid man and give a detailed insight into his life, preparations for  matches and detail what makes him one of the greatest players to play football.

He tweeted: “Ronaldo’ is a powerful documentary following a year in the life of the world’s best footballer.”

The Los Blancos start joins the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Usain Bolt to have a documentary made about them. Zindane’s was a close up look at the player in action over 90 minutes, while Bolt will have a documentary made about him and his build up to the Rio Olympic Games next summer where he will look to defend the 100m and 200m titles.

Ronaldo joined Real from Manchester United in 2009 and has gone on to break all sorts of goalscoring records. The season just ended saw him hit 61 goals in all competitions. In his time at the club he has won the Champions League, La Liga, the Copa del Rey, European Supercup and World Club Cup.

Iker Casillas will leave Real Madrid in the next few days after reaching an agreement to end his contract with the club, Spanish public television TVE has claimed.

After spending 25 years at Real, Casillas will play for another team for the first time in his life, although he hasn’t made a decision on what his next destination will be.

Casillas had one year left on his contract and he wanted to stay, but the critics and the fact that Los Blancos will sign David de Gea have made him change his mind.

Florentino Perez wants him to have the farewell he deserves after having won three Champions Leagues, five leagues and two Copa del Rey for Los Merengues. He might be planning to organize a homage at the Santiago Bernabeu or even a tribute match.

Casillas has received an offer from Besiktas and several European giants have shown an interest in signing him, such as Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City. However, the goalkeeper confessed a few months ago that he would like to play in the Major League Soccer, so he might be heading to the United States this summer.

Real Madrid Castilla manager Zinedine Zidane has heaped pressure on new Los Blancos boss Rafa Benitez already, saying he know he must win trophies if he is to survive at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Benitez signed a three-year deal last week to take over from Carlo Ancelotti after he was sacked for failing to lead the side to the La Liga or Champions League trophies.

In quotes published by Marca, Zidane said Benitez must win the big prizes if he is to avoid the same fate as Ancelotti.

“The club has selected Benitez and it’s a good decision. You need to respect that decision. Benitez is a good choice, but what counts are results. He knows the place well. He knows the challenge he has ahead. Only winning titles is good enough,” he stated.

Zidane was seen by many as a candidate for the top job when Ancelotti left, but went on to add that he is happy in his current job.

“I want to keep learning. Then I’d like to manage in the top division. I’ll progress bit by bit, as I did as a footballer. We’ll see if it’s here or somewhere else.

“I’m staying with Castilla because I want to carry on. We had a target and we didn’t achieve it. I want to achieve it. It’s been a good experience. It’s a completely different job from working with the first team. We’re looking to get promoted. I decided to stay because Real Madrid is an amazing place and I want to contribute something important to this club,” he commented.

Alvaro Morata

Juventus forward Alvaro Morata has admitted a return to Real Madrid this summer is not out of the question but does depend on a lot of things.

The 22-year-old left Los Blancos last summer in a 14 million euro move to the Turin side. He has enjoyed a spectacular first season in Italy, winning Seria A and getting his name on the scoresheet in the Champions League final against Barcelona – a game Juve eventually lost 3-1.

Such has been the form of the Juve man that talk has suggested his former employers may be back in for him in the summer as they insisted on a buy back clause when he left.

Speaking to Cadena Ser, Morata said a move back to the Spanish capital would be complicated. He also added he is happy with life in Italy.

“Nobody has spoken to me about going back. It is something that would have to depend on many people,” he said.

And he added: “That said, I have to think about how my year went here [at Juventus]. And I am very happy to be playing here.”

New Real boss Rafa Benitez is believed to be working on rejigging his forward line with Cristiano Ronaldo taking on a more central role. With the departure of Javier Hernandez, Los Blancos will be on the lookout for a striker in the close season.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has said he will speak to new Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez about Gareth Bale to ensure there are no club vs country rows.

The new Los Blancos boss is keen to build his team around the former Tottenham Hotspur man, while the 25-year-old is the key player in the Wales team looking to qualify for the European Championship next summer.

Speaking ahead of the Welsh game against Belgium on Friday, Coleman said he would speak to Benitez and make sure a common sense approach is taken so all parties are happy and he can perform at his best for Real and his country.

“I know Rafa. We have a pro licence in Wales and I sat in once or twice and listened to him talk. He wants to build around Gareth, which is great. I am looking forward to having a conversation with him. He needs to know what we do – we did the same with Carlo Ancelotti – just to give them some reassurance on how we do things,” he stated.

He went on to talk about Bale’s form compared to Eden Hazard. The pair had almost identical stats last season in terms of goals and assists. But while Bale was fiercely criticised, and even had his car attacked by ‘fans’, Hazard was picking up personal accolades left, right and centre.

“Look at the stats, they were very similar, although Bale has had heavy criticism in Spain and Hazard has been the best player here and rightly so. It goes to show. The league in Spain is physically and tactically different but at Madrid you have to win and with style. They are not called Galacticos for nothing – they expect excellence. Bale knew that before he walked in. But I don’t see him screaming that he wants to leave,” Coleman commented.

Seria A champions and Champions League finalists Juventus have announced the signing of Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira on a four-year deal.

The 28-year-old announced a couple of months ago that he would not be renewing his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu as he wanted a fresh challenge after five year at Los Blancos.

Much speculation has been written about his future, with a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United linked with the World Cup winner. Bayern Munich and Fiorentina were others strongly linked with him.

But in a statement on the club’s website, Juventus announced the capture of the Germany star.

It read: “Juventus Football Club has today completed the signing of Sami Khedira. The 28-year-old, who will officially join from Real Madrid on a free transfer on 1 July 2015, has agreed terms on a four-year contract which expires on 30 June 2019.”

Khedira joined Real from Stuttgart after the 2010 World Cup. In his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, he has won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. But a number of injuries have seen him play few matches in the last couple of campaigns. The arrival of countryman Toni Kroos and the form of Luka Modric meant his first team opportunities would be limited.

Real Madrid right back Daniel Carvajal has said none of the Los Blancos players were offended by Gerard Pique’s comments while celebrating Barcelona’s treble success.

At the club’s celebration following their Champions League win, the Spain defender thanked Kevin Roldan – the singer who performed at Cristiano Ronaldo’s 30th birthday party – for starting the route to success.

It was a clear reference to his former Manchester United team mate’s controversial party that took place in February just hours after Los Blancos had lost 4-0 to Atletico de Madrid. Many of the Madrid players in attendance were criticised by the media ad fans, while it was seen as a turning point that swing the pendulum in Barcelona’s favour as they went on to win the league, Copa del Rey and Champions League.

But speaking to reporters while in international duty, Carvajal said no offense was taken. He went on to congratulate Barcelona for achieving the treble.

“I don’t find Pique’s words offensive. I congratulate Barcelona for this season’s results,” the defender said.

The other Real players in the Spain squad, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Isco, refused to comment to journalists whether Pique’s mocking had annoyed them. Spain take on Costa Rica in a friendly on Thursday.

Mesut Ozil gossip

Former Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil was caught partying with Barcelona players in Berlin after the Azulgranas conquered the Champions League title last Saturday, as reported by German newspaper Bild.

Barca players headed to a night club to celebrate their victory after beating Juventus 3-1 at Berlin Olympic Stadium. Ozil went to that same club that night and was seen partying with Neymar and Gerard Pique among other Azulgrana players.

Bild reported Ozil had a cost-free night, as his drinks were paid by Brazilian striker Neymar.

These news have angered many Los Blancos fans, who have seen this as a treason. Ozil spent three seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu before signing for Arsenal in a 45-million-euro deal.

He was one of the fans’ favourites and some fans criticised his sale. However, everyone celebrated such a great deal after seeing the Germany international embarrass himself at Arsenal. In two seasons in north London, he has failed to become a guaranteed starter, putting in some poor performances, although he has picked up two FA Cup winners’ medals.

There have always been rumours of Ozil being a Barcelona fan in his childhood, and this could finally confirm it. If Arsenal were to play at the Santiago Bernabeu next season, Ozil might not have the warm welcome he would expect.

Javier Hernandez has said he would love to join Real Madrid on a permanent deal but only with the guarantee of first team football.

The Mexican spent the past season on loan at the Santiago Bernabeu from Manchester United, and although he didn’t see as many first team minutes as he would have liked, he was popular with the fans.

His lung busting cameos were appreciated by Madridistas and he increased his popularity among fans with his last gasp winner against Atletico de Madrid in the Champions League quarter final.

Speaking to Marca about his future, the 27-year-old said he wants to stay in the Spanish capital but the situation is out of his hands.

“Yes, I want to stay at Madrid, but I also want to join a team where I can play and get minutes. First team football is my priority,” he commented.

He added: “I don’t know if Rafa Benitez will call me, but I’m sure he’ll win trophies for Madrid. I’d be happy if he did, but I just want to play.

“I have nothing against [Carlo] Ancelotti. He loved me, chose me and I’ll always be grateful for that. Things happened as they did and that’s it. I’m proud to have played for such a big club like Real Madrid.”

James Rodriguez has said he is happy to play in any position for Real Madrid.

The Colombian, who signed from Monaco in an 80 million euro deal last summer, arrived at the club having made a name for himself as an attacking midfielder and playmaker.

Indeed, his eyecatching displays for his country at the World Cup in Brazil, and in particular his goal of the tournament against Uruguay, prompted Los Blancos to act fast to snap up their man ahead of anyone else.

Under Carlo Ancelotti, the 23-year-old was asked to play in a deeper role, something he had not be used to. James still ended the season with 17 goals in 46 appearances in an impressive opening campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Now back with his national team for the Copa America, Rodriguez spoke to reporters to discuss his role at international and club level and said he is not worried by the arrival of Rafa Benitez at Madrid because he will play anywhere in the team.

“I am clear with what Pekerman wants and I am capable of doing it. At Real Madrid I play a little further back but I will play wherever I am asked,” he stated.

“I have great enthusiasm and I’m feeling good about the Copa America. It won’t be easy but we will take it step by step. I don’t like to lose and we will try our best to winner the tournament,” he added.
