Zinedine Zidane spoke at press conference after the victory Los Blancos achieved at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez against Getafe. The French manager highlighted the importance of this triumph, Isco and Cristiano Ronaldo’s performance and other key topics.

Zidane started the press conference talking about yesterday’s game: ” We started the game very well because we had several chances to score more goals, but in the second half we relaxed a bit, but it was important for us to get our three points before the Atletico-Barcelona match”, Zidane said about the game against Getafe.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored for first time in La Liga this season and it was the goal gave the victory to Los Blancos in the last minutes: “It was important for Cristiano to score his first goal. He is our reference in the attack, but I’m also happy with the performance of other player such as Isco and Marcelo”, the French manager said about Cristiano Ronaldo.

The French manager did many changes in the line up after the international break and the unusual players did once again a great match:”After the international break, there a lot of players who have played key games for Russia World Cup. I’m going to need all my players  because we are going to play a lot of games in a short period of time and we must take advantage of our complete squad”, Zidane affirmed.

Isco entered the pitch in the second half and in only 20 minutes he gave the assist to Cristiano, proving that he is living his best moment as a player since his arrival to Madrid:”We need Isco and all the player but it’s true that he played very good and provided the decisive pass for Cristiano in our second goal”, the French manager said.

In yesterday’s line-up we can highlight the presence of Achraf in the right back and Marcos Llorente playing as a stopper replacing Casemiro:” Achraf is a ver offensive player and he is physically working a lot, while Marcos Llorente give us balance in the midfield and the possibility to give rest to Casemiro”, the French manager said about the two young players who included in yesterday’s game.

Real Madrid won 1-2 in the 8th week of the regular season against Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, in another derby of the Spanish capital. This was a very important game for Los Blancos because Getafe are doing a good season in their return to La Liga and Real Madrid had to keep Barcelona’s track in La Liga.

Zinedine Zidane decided to do many changes in the line up thinking in the Champions League clash against Tottenham next Tuesday. The french manager introduced the youngster Acrhaf in the right back, Marcos Llorente playing as a stopper replacing Casemiro and Kiko Casilla between the sticks. We can highlight that this was the first time since Cardiff’s final, that Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema coincide in the pitch.

The match started with Real Madrid having the ball possession because Getafe are a side who likes to defend in their own pith with the goal of steal the ball quickly and look for a counterattack.  In the 10th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo had a great chance to open the scoreboard after a brilliant move of Benzema, but Guaita prevented it with a good save. Los Blancos couldn’t find the way to create danger because the team managed by Bordalás were playing with a lot of intensity, doing numerous faults and without letting Real Madrid play with continuity.

Finally, in the 39th minute Benzema scored the first goal for Real Madrid in a very good play, finishing with a shot into the bottom corner. These were very good news for the team managed by Zidane because there were not many minutes remaining to finish the first half.

The second half started with Getafe letting more spaces in the defense because they had to attack and play more offensive. In the 55th minute the team managed by Bordalás achieved the goal that gave them the draw with an unlucky own goal of Marcos Llorente in a possible offside. Now it was the moment to have patience and control the game because Getafe were growing with the pass of the minutes and they were having certain danger in the counterattacks.

In the 71st minute Zidane decided to do two changes replacing Marcelo and Lucas Vázquez by Isco and The Hernández, looking for more dynamism and verticality in the attack. Los Blancos were having many mistakes in the defense and they weren’t creating clear chances to score the goal of the victory, so the French manager decided to do his last substitution replacing Benzema by Mayoral. Suddenly, in the 85th minute Cristiano Ronaldo scored the goal of the triumph with a great finish after a wonderful assist of Isco, that in only 10 minutes he changed the game, being the player who connected the midfield with the attack.

Finally, Real Madrid achieved the victory in a very tough game against a team who is very solid and plays with a lot of intensity. Now Los Blancos must focus in the Champions League game against Tottenham Hotspur at Santiago Bernabéu next Tuesday.

Zinedine Zidane spoke at press conference the day before the capital derby Real Madrid will have against Getafe in the 8th week of te regular season at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

Zidane started talking about the number of changes he will do in the line up for this game after the international matches for the Russia World Cup: “Maybe we will do some changes in the starting 11 because we have seven games in a short period of time and we also must take advantage of the great squad we have. Now we must only focus in tomorrow’s game because it won’t be easy after seeing the good season Getafe are doing in their return to La Liga”, Zidane said.

The journalists didn’t’ doubt about asking the French manager what’s happening with the injuries of Gareth Bale:” I don’t really know why he gets injured so often, I’m not a doctor or a physiotherapist. Milan want to improve even more their squad with the goal of being once again a powerful team of Europe, after the important singings they have done in summer. Getafe is a town near Madrid, only 10 kilometres south from the Spanish capital. Many Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid fans live in the south of the region, because the team didn’t have a great tradition in Spanish football. However, since they were firstly promoted to Primera Division in 2004, the Azulones (Blue Team) only were relegated once, two seasons ago.

Despite Getafe is not a big team in Spanish football, they’ve achieved great things in the last years. They were able to reach twice the Copa del Rey final. In one of these years, Getafe thrashed FC Barcelona (4-0) in their stadium. Besides, they also played in Europe, almost knocking out Bayern Munich in 2008. Luca Toni avoided the humiliation in the last minute.

For Real Madrid it wasn’t an easy stadium neither. Their first visit was in 2004 and Los Blancos lost (2-1) due to the goals scored by Albiol and Riki, whereas Solari found the net for the Galácticos. In 2005 (1-0) and in 2008 (3-1), Real Madrid also lost at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, whereas in 2006 they could only draw (1-1). In 2012, Los Blancos were also defeated despite taking the lead (2-1) with a goal scored by Higuaín.

Since that visit, Los Blancos have won all the games, including their last trip in 2016 (1-5). As you can see, this is a very tough ground for Los Blancos, although the stadium was named after a former Real Madrid player, Alfonso Pérez.

This can change this summer, especially if we take in consideration what he did in the past.

The president always took advantage of the World Cup to sign big players for Real Madrid. In 2002, Florentino tied Ronaldo Nazario, who won the cup for Brazil in Korea and Japan. Several years later, in 2014, the president stole Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich and he also signed James Rodríguez, who scored the best goal of the tournament and lead Colombia in the tournament.

Perhaps this year Florentino also sign the star of the tournament. At the moment, there are several names that are very appealing for the president. For instance, we’ll see in the pitch Harry Kane (Tottenham – England), Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich – Poland), Antoine Griezmann (Atlético Madrid – France) or Edinson Cavani (PSG – Uruguay). However, other interesting names such as Patrick-Emery Aubameyang or Alexis Sánchez cannot show off in Russia because they don’t get the qualification.

The best players of the world have to be in Russia and Cristiano earned his ticket in a very difficult group. Now, the Real Madrid striker can focus in La Liga, where he had difficulties to score yet. In this international break, Cristiano scored one goal against Andorra.

Cristiano Ronaldo joins Keylor Navas in the Real Madrid players list to get the ticket to the World Cup. Luka Modric has to wait, because Croatia have to play a playoff to qualify. Besides, Gareth Bale will miss the World Cup after the defeat suffered by Wales at home against Ireland.
