Yesterday we published that Real Madrid and FC Barcelona were following the Brazilian team Under 17 in the World Cup in India because both clubs were very interested in Lincoln, a Flamengo striker that scored three goals in the first round of the competition. However, Lincoln is not the only interesting player in this squad and Los Blancos have speed up the process to sign another youngster.

In this case we are talking about Alan Souza. According to the Spanish newspaper As, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with the player to bring him to Spain in the summer of 2018. He will play with Castilla -Real Madrid second team- until he grows up and earn the possibility to play with Los Blancos in La Liga.

Alan Souza play for Palmeiras although he has still to make his debut in the Brasileirao. His contract expires in 2018 and his release clause is set in €50M. However, because his contract is about to expire, Los Blancos can get a very good deal and sign the player for much less money.

His agent, Juan Figger, travelled to Madrid this year to tie all the details and, if everything goes fine, Souza will arrive to the Spanish capital next summer, when Souza turns 18.

He’s been compared with Philippe Coutinho because of his style of playing. His short height -only 163 cm- makes his very skillful when dribbling and assisting in the midfield. Alan is one of the best players of Brazil u-17 and, together with Lincoln, are the two great stars of the team.

Unfortunately we cannot see in the U-17 World Cup Vinicius Junior because Flamengo didn’t allow the player to travel to India. Florentino Pérez already signed Vinicius in a similar deal, but the price was much higher. Real Madrid bosses are building the team of the future with these signings.

Real Madrid are having several problems to score this season. Despite creating many chances, the team is struggling to find the net and, as a result of this, Los Blancos are losing many points in La Liga and the Champions League. Many people criticize Cristiano Ronaldo or Benzema -both have only scored one goal in La Liga-, but the whole squad is having problems with the goal.

We saw the last example in the game against Tottenham. Los Blancos wasted many chances and Keylor Navas saved a draw with two great saves with shots from Kane and Eriksen. One of the problems is that Los Blancos are not creating danger in the corner kicks or set pieces. For instance, on Tuesday Real Madrid had 9 corner kicks without creating any danger.

Real Madrid have not scored with the head in all the season. Last season, Zidane’s side scored 40 goals. This is a very important part of the game and Real Madrid are showing a lack of confidence here. With Casemiro, Sergio Ramos, Varane or Cristiano Ronaldo in the line-up and Toni Kroos as the assistant, the set pieces should be an important weapon for the team.

Cristiano Ronaldo
was close to score on Tuesday but his header went to the post. It was the last example of the misfortune with the aerial game. Whereas Los Blancos have to score yet from a header, FC Barcelona have already scored four goals and Betis seven.

In the game against Tottenham, we saw Toni Kroos not crossing the ball to the box in the corner kicks, showing a lack of confidence in this part of the game. Zidane should be working hard in the training sessions to amend this problem as Real Madrid was one of the best teams of the world in this aspect. For instance, Los Blancos solved the last 16 draw of the Champions League last season thanks to the headers scored by Sergio Ramos against Napoli.

There is a big controversy around Real Madrid in this start of the season because Los Blancos are not very accurate when they look at the rivals goal. The last example was the game against Tottenham Hotspur, where Hugo Lloris was the best player on the pitch, saving clear chances to Karim Benzema.

The French striker is being heavily criticized after his last performances. He missed a very clear chance against Valencia in the first game at home in La Liga and Benzema also missed two clear opportunities against the Spurs, the first one even without goalkeeper. Even Gary Lineker, former English footballer, asked his followers if Benzema was overrated.

In the middle of this problem with the goal we can also find Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese has scored five goals in the Champions League, being the topscorer of the competition together with Harry Kane, another player in Real Madrid’s agenda. However, in La Liga he has only found the net once, in the game against Getafe.

For this reason, Los Blancos are already looking at the market to see which strikers might be of interest. Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane is the first of the list, but we can also find other footballers such as Robert Lewandowski or Edin Dzeko. However, Los Blancos have another option much easier: bringing back Mariano Díaz.

The Dominican striker scored the first goal of the game against Monaco in the last game of Ligue 1 for Olympique Lyonnais and he’s now the best newcomer in the French team. Mariano has scored 7 goals in 9 games, improving the stats of some very important strikers such as Sonny Anderson, John Carew, Alexandre Lacazette, Karim Benzema, Fred or Gomis.

Mariano Díaz left a great impression last season, but he didn’t have many opportunities with the BBC or Morata ahead. He had to find a club where he could shine and he’s taking advantage of his chances. Perhaps, this is the best option for the future, especially if we think that Los Blancos would have preference if Olympique de Lyon receive another offer from other club a buy-back clause according to Mariano’s contract. Lyon published that they didn’t include a buy-back clause in the contract.

These days we are watching the stars of the future in the Under 17 World Cup taking place in India. The scouters have a lot of work because there are a lot of interesting footballers showing their skills. The tournament is getting more interesting as the national teams are in the knock-out stages.

Real Madrid scouters are also taking a close eye to these games. We know that the club has changed their policy and now they are looking for new talents instead of Galácticos because the price set for these players is too high. The last one to be bought was Vinicius, the Brazilian striker playing now at Flamengo and he should stay there at least until he turns 18.

The new pearl to be followed now is Lincoln. Real Madrid and Barcelona are keeping a close eye to this Brazilian footballer, according to MARCA. He’s also playing for Flamengo, but currently he’s helping Brazil to achieve the quarter-finals of the competition.

Lincoln has started the tournament pretty well. Actually, he scored goals in the first three games of the competition, including the first game against Spain. Brazil is one of the favourites of the tournament and they’ve won all four games so far. Germany is their next rival in the quarter-finals.

Real Madrid and Barcelona already fought for Neymar or Vinicius in the past. Both teams are very interested in the Brazilian market, always full of talent. However, Lincoln performance in the tournament might raise his price a little bit more. This summer both giants were also trying to sign Ceballos from Betis but Los Blancos won that battle.

So far, the new policy of Real Madrid is bringing good results to Los Blancos. Marco Asensio is the best example. He was signed from Mallorca when he was a teenager -Barcelona also wanted him-, and he’s now one of the best players of the team despite his age. Could Lincoln be the next star of the future?

Real Madrid couldn’t beat Tottenham at home (1-1) in the third week of the Champions League group stage because Hugo Lloris saved all the chances and he was a nightmare for Los Blancos strikers. However, the Spurs could have also won at Santiago Bernabéu stadium, but Keylor Navas prevent it with a great performance.

The Costa Rican goalkeeper was back after missing the last game at Getafe with an injury. Keylor Navas travelled with his national team to America to get the ticket to the World Cup, but came back to the Spanish capital with some muscular problems. Kiko Casilla replaced him and the Spaniard made some mistakes, especially in set pieces.

Zidane has always expressed his confidence in Keylor Navas. The manager defended him when everybody was criticizing the goalkeeper for his mistakes last season. He didn’t want to sign any other goalkeeper and he prefered to keep the player that made Real Madrid European champion twice. And Keylor Navas is answering to this confidence.

Despite conceding goals in almost every game during this season, Keylor Navas is one of the best players of the team. He hasn’t committed important mistakes, apart from the goal conceded against Real Sociedad. In all the other games, he was an important player for Zidane and the team, giving confidence to the defence line. But yesterday he went beyond that.

Keylor Navas made one of his best performances at Real Madrid. Tottenham didn’t arrive many times to the goal, but Keylor Navas was always there. He had to show up three times to prevent the goals. The most difficult one was the chance that Harry Kane missed, just in front of the goal. Only two minutes later, Keylor also saved a difficult shot by Eriksen.

The Costa Rican goalkeeper spoke with the journalists after the game and he was asked about Real Madrid interest in Kepa, Athletic Club goalkeeper: “This isn’t anything new for me. With the people that really love, the ones that are always with me and the ones that are happy because I saved a ball, this is enough. I work to fight for my dream, not matter what people say”, Keylor said after the game.

Real Madrid could only draw against Tottenham Hotspur (1-1) at home in the third week of the Champions League group stage. Los Blancos had many chances but they found Lloris. Keylor Navas was also one of the best players of the team.

Benzema, again, missed many chances, but Zidane is calm: “I didn’t see him worried. He wish he had scored, but what Lloris did… From ten chances, you save one and it was today. But I see him like always, every day he’s better. He scored in Getafe and could score tonight. Pacience”.

Despite the result, Zidane is not very sad with the result: “The two goalkeepers were great. I’m not surprised. It’s a shame for us. We’ve won a point because the global result was logic. They also deserved a point”.

Zidane spoke about the feelings after the game: “Like always, we cannot be happy because we want always to win at home. We had chances, Cristiano’s bar… But there were two great goalkeepers and we have to accept that, sometimes, there is a goalkeeper that saves your chances. We don’t have to look beyond. We did the things right, they defend well. It’s a normal draw”.

The manager also spoke about the many chances missed: “I’m not worried but bothered, especially for the players, because they are fighting. The first 20-25 minutes we play with intensity, in the rival area, but there is a goalkeeper. I’m not more worried. We have to keep going, there is a second leg there and we will try to get the three points, it’s like a final. It’s not Tottenham venue, we’ll try to win the game”.

The French coach was also asked about Achraf, who played his first game in the Champions League from the start: “He’s the natural right back, Nacho can also play there. I’m happy for Achraf, he’s growing up. He has many resources. We’re happy with him. Nacho had also many minutes and he’s going to have more soon”.

Zidane was not surprised by Tottenham: “All the games are complicated and ever more against teams that defend well like Tottenham. I’m not surprised, it’s always complicated. All the rival come out at 250%. I’m happy for what we’ve done tonight. We can always do better. It’s a shame that we haven’t taken our chances and the second leg at Wembley will be great”

Real Madrid drew (1-1) against Tottenham in the third week of the Champions League group stage. The point is important because Dortmund could only get a point from Nicosia, so they keep the distance with the German side. Los Blancos failed again at home this season in a very level game. Keylor Navas and Hugo Lloris saved several clear chances to keep the point for their teams.

Zinedine Zidane put in the pitch the expected line-up with Achraf Hakimi as the main news. And actually the right back was important very soon. Achraf put a perfect cross in the 4th minute and Cristiano Ronaldo head to the bar and then Benzema missed a very clear chance without goalkeeper. The Portuguese tried again in the 16th after a great movement of Benzema but his shot went out.

Tottenham were also on the pitch and Harry Kane had the best chance with a header after a free kick but he found Keylor Navas. Tottenham started playing better and they found the goal in the 28th. Varane scored an own goal after a touch of Kane. It was the worst moment for Los Blancos but they reacted and drew before the half time. Toni Kroos fell inside the box and Cristiano didn’t miss the chance from the penalty spot. A draw before the half tme that was well deserved.

In the second half, Real Madrid could take the lead. In the 7th minute, Casemiro put a perfect ball and Benzema missed it although all the stadium was shouting the goal. Real Madrid were playing much better, closer to Lloris’ goal. The French goalkeeper was the best player of their team and he saved another great shot from Cristiano Ronaldo. Actually the Portuguese tried again after two great dribbles found he found again Lloris.

Tottenham had also their options and Kane missed a very clear chance because Keylor saved it amazingly. Kaylor was again the hero two minutes later with Eriksen as the rival. Zidne had to do something and he introduced Asensio for Benzema. The substitution didn’t change many things, because Los Blancos couldn’t find the spaces with the Spurs defending well. The time finished and Los Blancos couldn’t score the definitive goal, so they will have to go to Wembley and get, at least, a point.

Tottenham Hotspur visit Santiago Bernabéu six years later the last time the Spurs set a foot in the Spanish capital. It was in the quarter-finals of the Champions and the British team didn’t have an option against Mourinho’side, who thrashed them at home (4-0) after Peter Crouch was sent off. Then, Cristiano scored in White Hart Lane to get the ticket to the semi-finals.

Harry Redknapp was leading that group with great footballers in the team, such as Luka Modric or Gareth Bale. Six years later, the Spurs have made a great team again under Mauricio Pochettino’s guidance, finishing in the top three in the last two Premier Leagues. With less money than their competitors, the North London club has created a team that is able to fight against the giants in England.

It was different in Europe. Last season, they were knocked out in the group stage surprisingly and they were also beat by Gent in the Europa League. This season the Spurs need to make a step up in their progression and reach, at least, the Last 16 of the competition, although their group is quite complicated.

Florentino Pérez has always kept a close eye to Tottenham Hotspur. The president keeps a good relationship with Daniel Levy and both have done several business together. It was very tough, but Florentino was able to sign Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, two of the great stars that played for Tottenham in the last years.

Now, the president is following Harry Kane and Mauricio Pochettino. The British man is one of the best strikers in Europe at the moment and he’s been in Real Madrid agenda in the last months. Pochettino could be an option for the future and, actually, there were rumours about his links with Real Madrid even when he was training Espanyol. Besides, Dele Alli, suspended for tonight’s game, has raised some interest at Bernabéu offices.

There are seven players that have played for both teams in their career. Apart from Modric and Bale, we can also name Emmanuel Adebayor, César Sánchez, Roberto Soldado, Jonathan Woodgate and Rafael Van der Vaart.

Zinedine Zidane spoke in press conference before facing Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League. This game will be very important for Los Blancos if they want to top the group but the most repeated name in the press room was Isco.

The manager wanted to highlight the great performances of Isco Alarcón: “This is his natural progression. He knows he’s a very important player for this club and every time he has the option to play he does it well and every day better. He can play in a lot of position, closer to the forwards is better for him, but he can play with three in the midfield…”

The midfielder is nominated to the Ballon D’Or this year: “I can tell you I like Isco a lot because he’s always creative. The players that try hard always have success. I like this”.

Zidane was also asked about Cristiano’s goal against Getafe: “I’m happy for him, he deserved it, he works a lot and he always want to improve. I respect a lot Cristiano Ronaldo because he’s an example for the others. It’s good that he’s scored in La Liga and we want him to be comfortable”.

After the victory in Getafe, the team is getting more confidence: “Hopefully I’ve got already what I was looking for. We are going to have many games and they good this is that we are getting back to normal because there are less players missing. But there will be another tough moments”.

Now Real Madrid will play two games in the Champions League against Tottenham Hotspur, key to know which team will top the group: “It’s always a test, we have two games against Tottenham and the first final to top the group is tomorrow. It’s going to be a good game for the people that like football and hopefully we can win”.

Zidane also spoke about Harry Kane, the Tottenham star: “I don’t know his future, right now is very important for Tottenham. He’s very good in everything. Everything he does is looking for the goal, he always gets the space and he’s good. He’s very complete”.
