Spanish sports newspaper As reports today that Gareth Bale missed the trip to Monaco with Tottenham Hotspur in order to avoid suffering an injury prior to his signing for Real Madrid.

The Madrid daily claims that Spurs owner Daniel Levy and Los Blancos president Florentino Perez will close the details of the payment on August 7th at Miami.

“Bale revolts against the club”, titles Marca, who claim Madrid will pay his transfer in five years. The most sold Spanish newspaper also publishes a story about the exhibition Isco gave against Los Angeles Galaxy.

Meanwhile, As claims that Carlo Ancelotti will line-up Jese Rodriguez and the international players today against Everton for the first time in the pre-season.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Rednapp has told BBC Wales that Gareth Bale ” doesn’t want to say it at Spurs. “But I hear from different sources that he really wants to go now”, he declared.

After Carlo Ancelotti admitted Real Madrid are in talks to sign the Welsh international, it looks fairly unlikely that Bale will stay at London. “I think it’ll be difficult for him not to go now. I think he wants to go if we’re truthful”, Redknapp said.

The manager, who knows Bale very well from his former job at Spurs, stated: “When you’re a kid and you start playing football you dream about playing for Real Madrid. When I was a kid I saw that great team of Ferenc Puskas, Francisco Ento, Alfredo Di Stefano”.

“Its’ a special club. The chance to run out at the Santiago Bernabeu only comes once in a lifetime, as Zinedine Zidane said the other day, you can’t not take it”, Redknapp concluded.

Real Madrid maestro Mesut Ozil has urged the club not to consider selling Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese international has been subject of speculation since he announced last year he was unhappy in Madrid, fuelling talk of a switch back to Manchester United.

The impending arrival of Gareth Bale at the Santiago Bernabeu has only increased the rumours, with United believed to be keen on taking him back to Old Trafford, while Manchester City, Monaco and PSG all retain an interest.

But speaking to CNN on Los Blancos’ tour of the US, 24-year-old Ozil said: “Cristiano Ronaldo is very important to the team, just look at the goals he has scored in the past few seasons.

“He’s a great person off the field. I hope he can stay here for a long time because he can help us win important titles.”

As the new season creeps ever closer, there is debate in the Spanish media about the role Cristiano Ronaldo will play in the new look Real Madrid side.

According to Marca, Spain’s biggest selling daily, Carlo Ancelotti wants to give the Portuguese star a free role in the team.

The 28-year-old would dictate the team’s play, and wouldn’t have to concentrate on defending so much, allowing him to be at his devastating attacking best throughout matches, the paper says.

AS continues to whip Real supporters into a frenzy over the Gareth Bale transfer even though the story hasn’t changed much in the last 24 hours. The publication claims the Welshman has refused to travel with the Tottenham Hotspurs squad for their match at Monco – a somewhat surprising claim as Bale is known to be keen to maintain his good relationship with the club and fans in particular.

In some transfer news, talk of a potential bid from Arsenal for Luka Modric has been quashed by the club, while Denis Cheryshev may be on his way to Zenit St Petersburg on loan.

Real Madrid kicked off their US tour with a comfortable 3-1 win over LA Galaxy thanks to a Karim Benzema double and an Angel di Maria strike.

Carlo Anceotti picked a strong side to take on the American side and was rewarded early on when Cristiano Ronaldo picked out di Maria with a lovely through ball for the Argentine to finish with aplomb.

The crowd of almost 39,000 enjoyed watching the stars on show and Ronaldo almost rose to the occasion twice, going close with long-range efforts before the break.

The Portuguese international was replaced by Benzema after the interval and it took the Frenchman just six minutes to grab his first goal. Isco played a perfect ball to the 25-year-old, who controlled the ball with his first touch before calmly dispatching the ball into the back of the net.

The home side did have their moment of glory when Galaxy’s Villarreal halved the lead after Denis Cheryshev failed to clear properly. But the two goal advantage was restored when Benzema headed home a di Maria cross to settle affairs.

Los Blancos will now take on Everton in the next stage of the inaugural Guinness International Champions Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur are willing to include Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Morata as part of Gareth Bale’s deal. According to reports in the Guardian, Spurs are ready to sell the Welshman, but only if Los Blancos include the promising striker in their offer.

Los Merengues manager Carlo Ancelotti confessed yesterday that the two are now in talks about a world-record tranfer for the Welsh international, with Real offering around 100 million euros for the 24-year old.

However, Spurs owner Daniel Levy will not negotiate for less than 120 million, and Florentino Perez is willing to include one of his players to cheapen the deal.

According to reports, Real offered Fabio Coentrao and Angel di Maria to be included in the exchange, but now Spurs are believed to be only interested in Morata.

The 20-year old has a contract in Madrid that runs until the summer of 2015. He is the only pure front man in the squad together with Karim Benzema, and he is highly regarded by the new Los Blancos coach.

If Real Madrid finally agree to include Morata in the deal, they would probably have to sign another striker.

Madrid sports newspaper As claims today that the deal to bring Gareth Bale to Santiago Bernabeu “is closed” and that “Gareth Bale has already told Villas-Boas he’s leaving”.

“Deal closed” is As headline in their front page. “Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have reached a verbal agreement for 120 million euros”, they publish.

“Daniel Levy has asked Real not to announce it until they have made three new signings”, the Madrid daily states.

As reports that Spurs will use that money to sign Valencia’s striker Roberto Soldado and “they will also pursue Luis Suarez’s transfer”.

Marca mentions that Bale trained yesterday with Tottenham for the first time this summer “with his mind thinking in Real Madrid”.

Spain’s most sold newspaper main story is titled “Sargeant Carlo”. Marca claims the Italian is showing he is not the weak manager many people expected. “The training sessions reach the level of demand of the Navy”, they claim.

Real Madrid manager has repeated his determination that the team will play attractive, attacking football while under his charge.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Los Blancos’ first game of the US tour against LA Galaxy, the Italian boss said the club is steeped in history and tradition of playing football in an entertaining way.

“This club and the fans like good football and that is how we will try to play for them. This squad is very good. As I have often said, we have experience, youth, character and quality. I am very happy with the squad and the work we are doing,” he said.

The 54-year-old added:”It is usual for there to be competition between the players because knowing that there are a lot of matches and that everyone has a chance to play helps motivate them all. We need to play in unity and be a team which plays attractive, offensive, attacking football.”

In a wide ranging press conference, the boss answered all sorts of questions – including the fitness of Asier Illarramendi and Xabi Alonso. But the main talking point was the impending transfer of Gareth Bale.

Ancelotti refused to be drawn though, stating: “It is difficult to talk about Bale because he is not a Real Madrid player at present. I think the club is negotiating to try to find a solution and we will see what happens.”

In the summer of 1996, Real Madrid made a revolution with the purpose of recovering the lost supremacy in Spain. For that, Los Blancos signed Fabio Capello as manager. The Italian made very important signings for Real, such as Pedja Mijatovic, Davor Suker and Clarence Seedorf; but also other not so relevant. That is the case of Carlos Secretario.

The Portuguese arrived from Porto described as one of the best right-backs in Europe. Moreover, Real boasted about it for having stolen Secretario to their arch rivals Barcelona, who have also shown a great interest in signing him.

However, after a few months, many Madridistas whised Barça had signed Secretario, as the defender performed at a very low level in Madrid. The images of Fernando Hierro constantly telling the Portuguese off because of the spaces he always left uncovered have passed into Real’s history.

Plus, Secretario showed himself very aggressive when he played, as he was booked six times in his 13 appearances for Los Blancos. The fact that Real Madrid legend Chendo was his predecessor was also a handicap for the Portuguese. In fact, Los Merengues signed Christian Panucci in the winter market because they stopped trusting Secretario.

The defender would move back to Porto in January 1998. However, he didn’t show any self-criticism and blamed the fans and the journalists for his exit: “I’m sad. I feel bad. These are hard moments for me. I believe I have been treated unfairly. The press took it out on me since I arrived and the fans soon made their thoughts clear about me. Everybody has been very harsh on me”.

Secretario played at Porto until 2004, when he moved to Maia after having won the one Champions League and one UEFA Cup. He finally retired in 2005. Then, he became a manager. At the moment, he coaches Salgueiros, a third division club in Portugal, after having managed Maia, Lousada and Arouca.

Granada left-back Guilherme Siqueira has admitted he is flattered by talk of a potential move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The defender has been identified by Carlo Ancelotti as the man to replace Fabio Coentrao should the Portuguese player leave the club before the end of the transfer window, according to Madrid-based paper Marca.

Siqueira has also been linked with a move to Premier League side Everton, who have Spanish manager Roberto Martinez in charge, but admits the thought of making a move to the Santiago Bernabeu is one that has him dreaming.

Speaking to Globo Esporte he said: “I was very happy. Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world and any player would like to be in their squad.”

Siquiera then added that he had been approached by Valencia 12 months ago but was told he would not be sold. He spoke to his club’s chairman and asked that if a big club made a move this year, the club should not stand in his way of playing at the highest level.

“He said yes, that he would help me. And this is what’s going on. If the offers that are coming are good for the club and for me, I think it’s the right moment to sell me,” Siquiera stated.
