Cristiano Ronaldo and Irina Shayk

Cristiano Ronaldo started his holidays with a short trip to Miami with his friends. The Portuguese enjoyed the sun and the beach without his girlfriend Irina Shayk, and rumours about a possible break up arose in the media.

However, they seem to be more connected than ever. After Miami, CR7 continued his holidays in New York with Irina. The Real Madrid player uploaded a few pictures on Facebook of the couple in the most famous sites in the city.

And now, the couple is back in Portugal and Ronaldo has posted a photo of him and his girlfriend enjoying their vacations. Cristiano Junior, the footballer’s three-year-old son, is accompanying them on the holiday at the mansion Ronaldo owns in Gueres.

A few days ago it was the child’s birthday and since his dad couldn’t be there with him, Ronaldo is devoting all possible the time to spend with Cristiano Jr. Irina is also enjoying her time with the little kid, as she’s been seen playing badminton and swimming in the pool with him.

It is not usual to see Ronaldo and Shayk together at public events, and there have been very few occasions when they have posed in a photocall. But it looks like the summer sun is turning them more agreeable and likely to share their moments of happiness with the world. In less than 24 hours, the picture displayed in this article had 700,000 likes and 13,000 shares on Facebook.

Premier League side Tottenham Hostpur are bracing themselves for a player-plus-cash offer from Real Madrid for star player Gareth Bale, according to the Mirror.

Los Blancos have been linked with the Welshman for a number of weeks now, and reports suggest the transfer saga may speed up following Carlo Ancelotti’s appointment as boss.

The Mirror claimed the Santiago Bernabeu club will offer a huge sum of money, along with Argentinean winger Angel di Maria to try and tempt Spurs chairman Daniel Levy into parting with the 26-goal Bale.

So far, Los Merengues have been met with an unwillingness to discuss the deal between the clubs – who last summer announced a partnership agreement – while Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has stated his player will not leave.

The north London side are believed to have offered Bale a new deal worth close to 200,000 euros a week, although Madrid are hopeful of finally landing their man.

Jose Callejon could be subject of a bid from Liverpool, Madrid sports paper Marca has said.

The paper said the 26-year-old forward is considering his future at Los Blancos, especially if new boss Carlo Ancelotti decides to bring in a high-profile forward over the summer.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers was linked with a move for the striker earlier on this month as he looks to bolster his forward line, but Italian side Napoli emerged as contenders for the player’s signature.

However, Marca said that the Seria A side, now managed by Rafa Benitez, are reluctant to pay the 10 million euros it would take to secure his signing.

Should Callejon decide to leave the Santiago Bernabeu he would join compatriot Luis Alberto who recently signed from Sevilla.

Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas has admitted in an interview with FIFA.com that he cried after being benched by former Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho.

The now Chelsea manager decided to drop the World Cup-winner in favour of Diego Lopez for the entire second half of last season – even when he had fully recovered from a hand injury.

Mourinho decided to humiliate Casillas even further on the last day of the campaign when he left him out of the squad altogether even though Lopez was injured, preferring to name two inexperienced keepers in the squad.

And in one of his last interviews as boss at the Santiago Bernabeu, Mourinho said his only regret in his three-year stint was not signing Lopez in his first year.

Speaking to the world governing body ahead of the Confederations Cup semi-final clash between Spain and Italy, Casillas admitted he was hurt by the treatment he received.

He stated: “By thinking of the team and wanting what’s best for Real Madrid. I cried, suffered, felt bad and had nights where I slept little, if at all. I’m a Madridista through and through, and before everyone else – coaches, presidents, directors of football, even myself – the club always comes first.”

But he added he is now happy again now that he is playing football once more.

“Yes, I really have got my happiness back. It’s always difficult when you find yourself in a situation you’ve never experienced before. It hasn’t been easy, but now I’ve turned the corner, I’m a different Iker Casillas,” said the stopper.

The two main Madrid sports newspapers highlight in their front pages the words of Carlo Ancelotti during his unveiling as new Real Madrid manager.

“Ancelotti promises good football”, titles As. “The best club of the world has to win playing spectacularly”, Ancelotti said.

Marca emphasizes that “Ancelotti promises victories and spectacular football to make the fans happy”.

Spanish most sold newspaper shows as it main story the interview Iker Casillas gave Fifa.com in which Real Madrid’s captain admits he has “cried during the last months”. “I am a new Iker Casillas”, he said.

Both sports dailies report about the Confederations Cup semifinals. Brazil beat Uruguay 2-1 with Real’s defender Marcelo playing a good game, while Spain faces today Italy with Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Arbeloa and Casillas as possible starters.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has admitted in an interview to Spanish radio station RNE that the deal to sign Isco has been closed.

“Isco will play for Real Madrid. He just need to pass the medical tests”, Perez has confessed just two days after revealing that the agreement for Malaga’s midfielder was very close.

Perez revealed they have “reached an agreement with both the player and the club” and said that Spanish youngster “will be officially presented next week”.

Sources have told Real Madrid would pay around 27 million euros and Isco would sign for the next five seasons.

The 21 years old Spanish international was Zinedine Zidane’s first recommendation to Perez for the new Real Madrid project.

The arrival of Isco will probably mean that Kaka, also a playmaker, will find his way out of the club this summer, despite of the arrival of his former coach Carlo Ancelotti. With Mesut Ozil and Luka Modric, Real already has four players for that position.

Zinedine Zidane will become the new Real Madrid assistant manager after the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti at Los Blancos.

L’Equipe journalist Frederic Hermel gave the exclusive to late night Spanish sports TV show Punto Pelota and Ancelotti himself confirmed it in his presentation: “He will be a good assistant. The only problem is he won’t be allowed to play”, the Italian joked.

Although Florentino Perez wanted Zizou to be the technical director, the French legend will fulfill his desire of starting a coaching career. Zidane has been doing the football manager courses and has been reported to need to pass just one more subject to obtain the license.

Zidane will replace Aitor Karanka, former assistant coach during Jose Mourinho’s era, and will form a team with Paul Clement, the other assistant manager, who had already worked alongside Ancelotti at Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain.

The managment team will be completed by Italian veteran Giovanni Mauri, who will be the fitness coach, and Gilles Bourges, who is the new goalkeepers coach. Both of them also come from PSG.

Carlo Ancelotti has been officially unveiled as the new manager of Real Madrid, succeeding Jose Mourinho in the role.

The Italian, who left his role as PSG manager after guiding them to their first Ligue 1 title since 1994, said the opportunity to coach Los Blancos was too good an opportunity to turn down.

And he promised to bring “the most spectacular football” to the club as Madrid look to overhaul Barcelona in La Liga and chase their 10th Champions League.

The new boss flew into Madrid on Wednesday morning and was taken straight to the training ground and then on to the official presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Speaking to the gathered journalists, he said the history and prestige of the club was a huge pulling factor.

“This is the most prestigious club in the world and we have to win by playing the most spectacular football because the history and tradition of this club is in playing offensive football, and we’re going to work hard to play the football that will make the fans happy,” he stated.

Club president Florentino Perez also spoke of his delight at being able to bring Ancelotti to the club, describing him as an “intelligent man and a natural winner”.

But he warned the Italian he would experience pressure he will have never seen before in his previous roles at AC Milan, Chelsea and PSG.

He said: “Ancelotti has experienced the highest amounts of pressure in the most intense dugouts in the world, but he should know that nothing he has experienced will be similar to what awaits him at this club.”

Once Paris Saint Germain confirmed Laurent Blanc as their new manager, Real Madrid also announced the signing of Carlo Ancelotti as Jose Mourinho’s replacement at the Santiago Bernabeu. Real’s new boss will be the second Italian man in charge in the history of the club, after Fabio Capello. Carletto will coincide in Madrid with Kaka, who was the figurehead of the when they both were at AC Milan.

Ancelotti got the best out of the Brazilian, who became one of the top players in the world under the Italian’s charge. However, at the beginning the manager was doubtful about the quality of Kaka. In fact, he thought the Brazilian looked more as an Erasmus student than a football player.

They told me about a boy in Brazil, apparently very good, but who I did not know: Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite. For his name he seemed more like a preacher to me, and I was not that mistaken. He carried the word of football and faith: listen to him and you’ll be happy.

The club was unsure whether to bring him directly to Milanello or allow him to stay for another six month at Sao Paolo. After assessing our options we decided to speed up the process and bring him to the club as soon as possible so that he could begin training with us. And for me to meet him.

From my point of view, it was a blind signing, full of good words and hopes, but I needed facts. Kaka arrived to Malpensa and I put my head in my hands: his glasses, his comb-over hair style, his nice kid face… he was just missing a lunch box and a book. We had signed an Erasmus student. Welcome to Erasmus projects, it wouldn’t be bad if you also can play football.

That is how Ancelotti described in his autobiography, Preferisco la Coppa, his first impression of Kaka. However, when he saw the Brazilian with the ball in his feet, he rapidly changed his opinion:

With the ball, he was a monster. I stopped talking, just because I couldn’t find the words. There were no words to describe what I was seeing. That Jehova’s Witness was actually a man who talked to God, as we found out later. In one of our conversations, I think we even talked about football.

In one his first sessions on the training field he faced Gattuso, who put in a terrific tackle on him. But Kaka did not miss the ball, and Rino finished the action by saying “fuck off”. From his point of view, that meant promoting his new team mate. Still with the ball in his foot he shot on target from 30 meters with Nesta being unable to stop him. We took that kid’s glasses off and dressed him in a football kit, and he turned out to be what we didn’t expected: a genius.

The question is now: Will he be able to bring the best out of  Kaka again and allow him to find the form he once displayed  in Milan?

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has said he is delighted the club has appointed Carlo Ancelotti as the new manager.

The Italian left his post at Ligue 1 champions PSG to become Jose Mourinho’s successor after agreeing a three-year deal.

The 59-year-old has a trophy laden CV having won two Champions League titles with AC Milan, as well as domestic titles in England, Italy and France among others.

Speaking to Madrid sports paper AS, Ramos said Ancelotti was the perfect man for the job and he was confident he will lead the club to success – and in particular the quest for the Decima – Real Madrid’s 10th Champions League.

He said: “I am very pleased that Carlo Ancelotti has joined Madrid. I can only speak well of him and look forward to working with him.

“You have to recognise what Ancelotti has achieved in the game, managing some of the best clubs in Europe. He has achieved this because he brings great values with him, and knows how to get the best out of every player he works with.”
