Paris Saint-Germain line up Raphael Varane bid

Raphael Varane has recently confessed he rejected an offer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2011 because their project didn’t convince him. However, sources from France have revealed the French club are ready to launch a new bid to sign the centre-back.

The 22-year-old is having a superb start to the season and has become a target for several European clubs. Manchester United and Chelsea have long been interested in bringing him, but none of them would be able to meet the offer PSG are reportedly preparing.

The player’s current market value according to Transfermarkt http://www.transfermarkt.com/raphael-varane/profil/spieler/164770 is 25 million euros, but the French side would be willing to at least double that amount.

Varane arrived at Real Madrid in 2011 as a personal recommendation of Zinedine Zidane to Florentino Perez and he is one of the president favourites, so there is little chance he will let him go no matter how high the offer.

The Frenchman has confessed he rejected PSG once, at it seems like there could be a second time. “PSG were interested in signing me, but we never entered negotiations. The Qatari project at the club was all still a bit unclear to me. I could not see myself join PSG, because I did not know how they would develop. The move to Real Madrid was a logical choice,” he told Le Parisien earlier this week.
