Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez says he wants the younger players in the squad to shine tonight when Los Blancos visit Cadiz in the Copa del Rey.

Benitez is expected to make a raft of changes as his side face the Segunda B outfit in the first leg of the last-32 tie. Real have a number of injuries, particularly at the back, and with the team looking to get back on track in La Liga and catch Barcelona, the boss will likely rest stars such as Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

It means players who have come through the academy, such as Jese Rodriguez, Kiko Casilla and Laso will be given the chance to shine.

Speaking to the media before the match, Benitez said: “The game is one which can cause manager’s concern. We might rotate Cristiano. It’s a good game for the homegrown academy youngsters to show what they are capable of.”

That said, Benitez warned he team that the hosts have the potential to cause an upset and they need to be switched on from first minute to last.

“It is a different game but I insist on my utmost respect towards Cádiz. Its time for those to play who have played less. We must be concentrated and focused in the game to take advantage of our qualtiies. I’ve seen pictures of the Cádiz and my assistants have enough information. It is a team that plays from the back, use the wings. Will Madrid play beautiful football? First define what is beautiful? We must respect the Cup and insure a win.”
