Real Madrid and Barcelona are the main candidates to land Santos midfielder Lucas Lima, according to Brazilian radio station Radio Bradesco Esportes FM.

The 25-year-old is one of the pearls of the Brazilian league and has attracted great interest from several European giants. Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping tabs on the Santos man.

Lima is a good friend of Neymar, and Radio Bradesco Esportes has claimed that the Barcelona star has recommended his club to sign the midfielder. However, Florentino Perez might be willing to interfere in the player’s arrival to the Catalan side, as Los Blancos have been eyeing Lima for the past few months.

According to Transfermarkt, Lucas Lima market value is only nine million euros, but Santos would be willing to get a lot more, since they only own 10 per cent of the footballer’s rights. Doyen investment group own 80 per cent and businessman Edson Khodor owns the remaining ten per cent. They are requesting between 25 and 30 million euros to let the player go.

Lima is a quality box-to-box midfielder who has great technique and excellent shooting skills. He has already made his debut with Brazil national team and is expected to become one of the best midfielders in South America.
