Toni Kroos has said he is happy with life in Spain and is keen to help the team be successful come the end of the season.
The 24-year-old joined Los Blancos last summer from Bayern Munich and despite him only being in the Spanish capital for nine months, is already part of the furniture at the Santiago Bernabeu after a seamless introduction.
The cultured midfielder has already helped the team to two trophies this campaign – the European Super Cup and the World Club Cup – and told the UEFA.com website he wants to ensure Real are successful in La Liga and the Champions League too.
Speaking about his first nine months in the Spanish capital, Kroos said: “It has been a good start for me. I have been here a while now, so [my start] is in the past. It’s gone well from the off. For the time being, we are first in our league and still in the race for the Champions League, and I hope we will be successful. As far as I am concerned, I hope to contribute to that success.”
Discussing his calm disposition on the field and with the press, Kroos said Carlo Ancelotti has played a big part in helping him feel settled.
“[Ancelotti] trusted me from the beginning in a position where I hadn’t played that much, which was nonetheless in midfield. I enjoy playing in this position. Our relationship is good. We communicate a lot before each game. We discuss how I have to approach each game according to the opponent we’re facing. I still don’t know every team that well, which is normal. But he tries to fill in the gaps.”
