Napoli have officially confirmed on their website the transfer of Spanish forward Jose Callejon from Real Madrid pending the medical tests he needs to pass.

The two clubs have reached an agreement that would bring the Andalusian to Rafa Benitez’s team for 10 million euros.

Callejon has travelled to Napoli and will undergo medical tests today prior to signing his new contract with the Azzurri. He has already visited Napoli’s training ground, according to the Italian’s club statement.

Sources have told the 26-year old will sign a five-season deal worth 2.5 million euros a year. After two years at Real Madrid, he will now start a new stage at Italian football.

Callejon arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2011 from Espanyol. Previously, he had worked his way up at Real Madrid’s youth teams together with his twin brother Juanmi, who now plays at Levadiakos in the Greek league.
