Cristiano Ronaldo is unique – Florentino Perez

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is a unique football who has already gone down in club legend, according to president Florentino Perez.

The Los Blancos superemo used his opening remarks at the 2015 General Assembly to hail the 30-year-old striker, who last week became the clubs all-time league goalscorer, overtaking previous record holder Raul.

Ronaldo’s hat trick in the Champions League during the week also saw hit become the first player to hit 80 goals in that competition – just one of many goalscoring records he has broken in an illustrious career to date.

Perez told club members during his opening speech: “Cristiano Ronaldo was named the Best Player in Europe for 2014/15 and won his third Ballon d’Or, his fourth Golden Shoe and his third Pichichi Trophy as La Liga’s top scorer. On top of that, last week he picked up the World’s Top Scorer and World’s Best Top Division Goalscorer of 2014 prizes.

And he went on to add: “He has now become Real Madrid’s leading marksman in La Liga and in the days to come will also manage to take his place as this club’s all-time highest scorer. He is a unique player who will continue to bring us plenty of moments of joy.”
