Promising Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been linked with a move to Real Madrid. Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported the 17-year-old has caught the attention of several European giants, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona and Los Blancos.

Donnarumma, who plays for AC Milan, has made a big impression in Italy. He has made his debut with the first team this season and he has been able to earn the starting goalkeeper role, sending former Real Madrid man Diego Lopez to the bench.

The young stopper, who is considered the next Gianluigi Buffon, has made 22 appearances this season, conceeding 17 goals.

AC Milan are not willing to let their wonderkid go easily. According to the latest transfer rumours, the Italians would only consider selling if they receive a 40-million-euro offer. It seems highly unlikely that any club will pay that amount for a player that has barely started playing at a professional level.

Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi is planning to extend Donnarumma’s contract, as he believes he could be the crucial piece to start building a legendary team.
